This alarm is essential to the Fortress Alarm System.The internal alarm solely alerts the people in the home.Not loud enough for the neighbors to hear. The external alarm sounds like a police siren and loud enough to alertthe neighbors. I placed mine in the Attic facing out the front vent.

WOW! This siren is VERY loud. If you want to make sure the neighbors are aware...then this is your alarm! It was a little confusing getting the alarm to sync with the system though, so I would suggest finding the install "help" video on the company site.

Due to my being hard of hearing with both high and low frequencies gone, I needed something that puts out a sound frequency that I can hear while I'm in sleeping and my hearing aids are on the dresser. Even 2 PiSector indoor sirens together in the same outlet did not wake me except for the flashing red lights one night as I was almost asleep (2-3 second alarm caused by unknown reasons). Nor did the extra loud WSR-06 siren (140 db) do the trick as it, too, was at the border line of my high frequency hearing abilities.So I bought another outdoor siren as it has a lower frequency I can easily hear. That's the good news.The bad news is the installation instructions are inadequate and not specific to PiSector. I noted with caution that even though I did a search for "PiSector Siren", this siren shows up first and is sold by Fortress Security, PiSectors' big competitor. But as it is identical to the PiSector siren that came with my GS08 system, I figured I'd give it a try.So, I followed the installation instructions that came with the siren. Neither version caused the siren to be recognized by my system. OK, let's try the PiSector addition method...Program, Sirens, (delete as I already had 3 - an unfortunate limitation of their system), Add, <enter> again to get 'put siren in setting mode' screen, plug & unplug siren once. That failed, too. So I tried a combination of both methods, add routine and plug/unplug 3 times, also without success.The answer is that both methods together is the solution, but the siren must be plugged in BEFORE going through the Siren Add routine. Then do unplug/plug 3 times trick, leaving it plugged in. The system will recognize it and send multiple beeps to the siren. You must also disconnect the siren for 5 seconds or more after completing the add siren activities. Then you are good to go. Go to the PiSector .com web site (no space before the .com) and find and watch the video for the outdoor siren installation. I should have done that FIRST, rather than discovering the video after sending them a flaming email. My apologies, PiSector.I would have given this 5 stars, except the instructions weren't specific for PiSector as it is a 'generic' siren that probably works with more than just PiSector and Fortress.

I bought the system without the outside siren but change my mind and came back for it. Glad I did this thing is LOUD!. Nice product at a nice price and super fast shipping. Great costumer support, even a 5 year old could set it up with the help of the videos on the Fortress websight. What more could anyone ask.

Voltage not identified in sales information page. This is important. I required a 12V unit. This unit arrived and I found it to be 9V. Returned for refund.

Easy install,programming it is simple,It has an antenna so theres no running a wire to the SO2,it comes with a long 110 plug so you just have to supply power,It sounds just like my car alarm,very loud.

Easy to install. Syncs wirelessly to existing Fortress alarm system. A bit louder than the indoor alarm that comes with the Fortress System.
