Since the bottom poles don't have spiked ends, it's impossible to shove it into the clay soil here in Texas. I had to use a spike that came with a solar light to make holes in the ground for it. I put a stake in the ground in the middle of the trellis to help stabilize it. I'm still worried that stong wind will blow it over. It was easier for me to figure out how to put it together on my own than to understand the instructions.

I think this item is a bit overpriced given its flimsiness. I bought it mistakenly thinking I was getting two at this price, misled by the photo. It did look very elegant and stately in my backyard, but it was windy last night and now needs to be reassembled. The round bits are plastic; I would be happier with this price were they metal, even if that made assembly more intricate.

Easy to assemble No tools needed. You will need another pair of hands to finish. It Stands firm and should hold a heavy vine. The vinyl/plastic rings at the connection have a tendency to lift apart, I will try some pvc glue at those joints before placing it in the garden. It is a fine design and beautiful to look at! The stainless steel joints fit together so nice. Great craftsmanship.

I received my Garden Trellis today, it was easy to assemble, but I was disappointed to find the rings were made of plastic. Hoping it will last in the hot sun for more than 2 seasons to get my money's worth.

This is a nice trellis, but disappointed with so much plastic. I reinforced the connections with black twine to hold the weight of the plant and to hold it together. It beefed it up considerable. They staked it on two sides. I hope it holds up to the AZ summers.

This is not metal, really. The legs are kind of metal, covered with plastic. The rings are plastic, the top is plastic. The whole thing is very hard to put together and have it come out straight. The rings don't click together--they sort of mush together and come apart very easily. The legs are so flimsy that trying to put them into ground that is anything other than sandy soil is virtually impossible. Wouldn't recommend it for anything other than a pot and even then, getting it to stand straight and not twisted is virtually impossible. Waste of money.
