Is twisted or braided better?

This is the difference. Braided is usually stronger at the same diameters, less likely to fray or unravel at the ends or from partial thickness cuts and abrasions, more symmetrical, and ties/holds knots better. Twisted can be broken down into smaller strands MUCH easier if that's your thing and is a little less costly.

I live where it can reach 95 degrees Fahrenheit and high humidity in summer months. Does this cord have any issues in this environment?

This cord will serve you very well in all environments. I have used it in 110 heat index 105 real temp down to negative 30
