Comfy and durable
Good Pilates mat. It’s comfortable and a good thickness. I’ve been using it for about 3 months and I’ve had no issues, it’s very durable. It did not have a chemical smell when it was new which is a plus bc I’ve had yoga mats in the past that I had to air out due to chemical smells but this mat was good to go as soon as it arrived. It is a good length; I’m 5’9” and I still have room on both sides (the one reviewer said it’s only 69” but that’s not true bc I’m 69” tall and the mat is longer than me).

Enough padding for bony bottoms on hardwood floor exercises!
My bottom is very bony, thus when doing some exercises on a hardwood floor, I need a lot of padding for comfort. This mat is very good for that. I can be balanced in a "V" position (half-sit up with legs in the air), or balance my weight on my elbow, or knee, or any other bony parts, and it give adequate cushioning, and I do not feel the hardwood floor through it. the attached velcro strap is convenient, but occasionally does get in the way.the mat is sponge-like, but seems resilient enough not to fall apart easily. I've only used it for 3 months, twice weekly, and it still looks new. There are others in the class with the same mat, and they seem have been using it for a while with no issues.so far I have not had any problems with the mat moving or sliding around when I'm using it in Pilates. it is pretty thick, so some of the standing balance exercises can be more challenging if you're standing one-legged on it for a long time. Otherwise, I really like this mat, and am happy that I got it instead of those thinner yoga mats that would have been inadequate in terms of cushioning capability.

Comfy, but likes to curl
I thought this was the same mat as I used at a pilates studio for a few years, but it's not quite the same. I've been doing pilates for ~ 10 years. Near my previous home, I went to a studio that supplied mats - and I was hoping this was it. Now, I'm in a place that requires our own mats - and it's on a VERY hard cement floor - so comfort is key. It's very comfy - much better than using too thin of a mat when you need to do moves that put pressure on the spine. I did have a slight tear the first use from a Bosu. Also, I find that it likes to curl. By the time it uncurls - the class is over. So, I would give it 5 stars for comfort; 3 stars for durability. - Average 4 stars.

Great mat, great value!
This is a wonderful Pilates mat, recommended by Thebalancedlifeonline.com. Has held up really well and is much better cushioned than my yoga mat. Perfect for Pilates!

The straps are glued on and not removable
I’m not sure if this is really a STOTT mat because the straps are supposed to be removable and mine are glued on. Also the mat should be slightly textured to help prevent it from getting too slippery but this mat is completely smooth so it’s slippery. I may just need to order a mat directly from the STOTT website.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND--this Stott's Pilates mat is amazing for people with arthritis
I have Rheumatoid Arthritis in my knees (and elsewhere). This Stott's mat makes it totally comfortable for me to exercise!! It can be used for Pilates, Yoga, or general exercise. I could not live without it! Ladies in my Pilates class told me about it, because my Yoga mat was not making it possible to do all the exercises. Now, I am excited that I can do ALL exercises without any pain, in my classes & at home!! I'm so happy!! I am passing this information along to help anyone like me. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Stott's mat!!!

Great mat
Great mat I use it for pilates once a week and now I have added cardio on the mat as well. I have been used it for 4 months with and without shoes and it still looks pretty clean! I like that it has self-ties. I am taking off one star because I wish it had a mat carrying strap either attached or included. I saw a similar mat at target for the same amount (but probably not as high quality) and it had a carrying strap. A strap would be great because this mat is too big to carry in most bags. I ordered a yogarat carrying bag...lets see if it is big enough to fit this!

Great cushioning
Perfect mat for Pilates! I found thinner (yoga type) mats very uncomfortable on my knees and spine. No more. I can roll like a ball and carry out all moves in 4 point kneeling without discomfort or additional padding. Very well made. Of course, like all mats, you do have to keep toenails trimmed to avoid tearing. The Velcro straps make storage & transporting to class super easy. Because of the thickness, it will curl up at the ends, especially if you’ve had it rolled up tightly for awhile, but the best solution to that is to work out more! Highly recommend.

Five stars initially but will it stand up to daily use?
Good thickness so it is very comfortable to use and the attached straps are great to store it away.BUT I have found that after nearly 2 months of daily use it is getting compressed where hands and knees are placed when exercising - I am now trying to vary where I place them but this is limited given the width and length of the mat. Hopefully this will not become an issue but I am surprised at this so early on given the cost of the mat.
