Does the cap fit tight enough to hold carbonated beverages for a long time?

If these lids are the same size as those on kombucha bottles, a lot of pill bottle lids will fit these. I have replaced missing lids with medicine bottle lids. 😊

strong enough and safe for kombucha 2nd ferment ?

I'm using mine for kombucha. Cap is tight enough to hold carbonation and not leak liquid, but will leak gas if pressure is too strong. Works well. I'm ordering my 2nd set of bottles.

Plan to use and reuse these for homemade salad dressings. Can the lids be thoroughly cleaned for reuse?

Yes, the lids can be easily cleaned!

Does anyone know if the liner inside is toxic foam?

The liner is a food grade foam liner, known as F217 --- it's a low density foam core sandwiched between two solid layers of low density polyethylene. F217 liners have excellent chemical resistance and low moisture transmission rate.
