Boom Box for Sitius Receiver
This is a good unit, but it took getting it here to answer some questions, which I'll address now to help others who are shopping for a boom box for their Sirius receiver.1. Does it work with a Stiletto 2? Although this unit was not made for a Stiletto 2, it will work, partially. You won't need to use any of the included adapters, the Stiletto won't fit with those, but the "male end" on the boom box will fit into the "female end" of the Stiletto. The adapters make the box look complete (color coded), but are not necessary for functionality. The bigger issue is the remote control. Only the power, volume and mute will work with your Stiletto. It will not change stations or access any other function of the Stiletto itself. If you can live with these, this boom box is a good unit for the price. If the remote is an issue, either buy a cheaper unit with no RC, or buy the boxes made for the Stiletto, which start at $200.2. How portable is it? Not very. Batteries don't seem to last long enough for any kind of practical use based on most other customer reviews, although I haven't tested that myself (and probably won't). The power cord has a large converter box attached so when I carry it around, the cord can't be tucked inside the battery compartment, etc; it has to be carried separately. The antenna and cord wrap/attach nicely to the back of the unit, so don't worry about that. Reception is good, even inside near a window. The sound quality is good and the touch screen on-board controls are really cool (located on the top of the unit). The seller (AV House) was great. I ordered it on a Wednesday afternoon and had it on Saturday with standard shipping to TN. The price was nearly the lowest, within a couple of bucks.Hope this helps!

Sounds good and looks good but............
If basing my review purely on sound and looks I would have rated the Boombox higher. My dissatisfaction stems from the erratic and unreliable reception. I am not sure, however, if this is the fault of the Boombox, Sirrius, the location of my home or a combination of these factors. After trying the Boombox in various locations around my home, I found that I can only get reception when the back of the Boombox faces west but, even then, it cannot be placed next to a wall as this appears to block reception. I found a location on my kitchen island that worked but if the Boombox was moved so much as a fraction of an inch reception was lost or became intermittent. After a few weeks of good reception it became very intermittent and I had to search to find location number 2. After a few days reception was resumed in location number 1.I have given up trying to get reception in my basement despite good reception initially. I bought the Boombox specifically so I could listen to Sirrius whilst using my treadmill and found a location on the window sill of a large north facing window where I got good reception if the back of the Boombox faced west. After a few days I would get good reception for only 10 minutes or so then it bacame intermittent. I then lost it completely and have gone back to watching TV with the volume on max. Very annoying. When reception is good I love Sirrius and my Boombox but I am disappointed by the limited locations I can actually use it in my home. I am a 'neat freak' so ideally I would like to have placed the Boombox against a wall so that the cables and back are not on constant view but that is not an option. So it goes into a cupboard when I have guests.Having said all of that I do not regret my purchase.

Excellent replacement boombox
When my Starmate Streamer finally died, I purchased a new Starmate 5 but found I couldn't use the existing boombox. I reluctantly purchased a new boombox and was very surprised at the quality. The size is comparable to my old Streamer boombox and the sound quality is better. It's a sleek design that fits anywhere.PROS: It's streamlined, the power, volume and auxiliary are on the top of the box and use touch to manipulate if the remote is not handy. The sound quality is excellent for the price. There are attachments for several different models of radios. The antenna cord has a spot to wrap around it on the back to limit the tangle of cords.CONS: The power, volume and auxiliary are on the top of the box and use touch to manipulate. The power and volume are relatively easy to operate with touch but the auxiliary is not and the remote does not have those controls. The touch controls require a moderate to light touch and the auxiliary is rather picky. Sometimes a very light touch works, others a moderate touch and sometimes you have to power off the box for a few seconds then on again to get it to work. I use auxiliary mode more than radio mode for my MP3 player. This box is not meant to be a stereo so look elsewhere if you are looking to control bass, treble, etc.Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase. I still have my old boombox that I use for the auxiliary for my MP3 player to play in other areas of the house.
