Varathane 1/2-Pint Dark Walnut Wood Stain

The product itself is great for unfinished wood projects. We've turned wine crates into a bookshelf for our child and an IKEA step stool into something to be proud of. Really only takes one coat to get the wood to the dark walnut finish. I don't know about one hour dry time. Been too scared to try it so I've left my projects to fully dry overnight in a cooler climate before putting into use. I imagine if you really wanted to do a second coat, the one hour timeframe is spot on.As for pricing, you can get this product at Home Depot for $16 a quart. My Home Depot didn't carry it so I opted to use Amazon Prime to buy. When I paid for this, I wasn't paying attention to the quantity. That being put out there for what it's worth I got the stain quickly and without hassle. Well-packaged, I'd even be bold enough to say.The 1/2 pint goes a long way so don't overbuy.

This stain is so solid and thick it covers all grains of the piece, I am going to have to strip down the stain and get minwax instead. Terrible.
