Mehron Makeup Premium Character Kit (Zombie)

My preteen son wanted to be a zombie for Halloween, so we decided to make our own costume using some old, torn clothes, fake blood, and makeup. I debated if I really needed to purchase makeup specific to zombies or if I could just buy some of the cheaper makeup sets found in the Halloween section at the grocery store. I went ahead and "splurged" and purchased this zombie makeup kit, and I'm very glad that I did. This product was worth every penny. There are step-by-step instructions in the kit that are very easy to follow. The 3D gel is crucial in getting the scary zombie appearance, and there is plenty of makeup in here to use it on multiple occasions. My son went to a Halloween party the week before and then he went out on Halloween night, and we barely used half the 3D gel even less of everything else. I will give you a few items of advice though:1) You need to heat up the 3D gel to apply it, but it indicates that you shouldn't heat it up in the microwave. We tried running it under warm water and we were having trouble getting the gel hot enough. We ended up heating up some water in the microwave, and then we set the 3D gel bottle into the warm water. Give yourself plenty of time to heat it up.2) After you heat the 3D gel and apply it to the skin, you need to wait until it cools before you continue putting on the remaining makeup. This can take a little bit of time. Again, make sure and give yourself plenty of time.From start to finish, I would give yourself a minimum of 90 min to heat up the gel, give it time to cool on the face, and apply the remaining makeup and tooth decay.My son had no issue removing the makeup in the shower later in the evening.This makeup surprised me with how great/scary it looked. I would definitely highly recommend purchasing this if you're dressing up as a zombie.

I bought it for a zombie costume in a Halloween parade. Usually I am a cheap person when it comes to makeup. but since it would need to last 1.5 hours of dancing and sweating, without any opportunity to fix makeup, I went for the brand.I did not regret it at all. The make up is easy to apply, does not smudge, and can be easily removed with the provided towelette.The liquid latex is much better than the cheap (runny) stuff you buy at party stores. The liquid latex is thick and sits right where you apply it without dripping or running. I could even use it to glue on fake nails that latest for hours (after attaching some paper to the fake nail, and smudging latex all fingers and fake nail).The blood only dries slowly, but maybe this is an advantage. I also used it on my costume and it washed right out.The grey, white, and bruise palette is great for zombie face colors. I think its water-proof makeup, so buy the appropriate water-proof make up remover pads.The brush is of good quality (no bristles sticking out to the side etc). The sponges are good also.

I received my order yesterday and decided to open it today and I noticed that the make up was used. I paid for a new product and I received a used one. I haven’t complained with my purchases through amazon but this time I am because this is something I will be using on my face and I’m not even sure if the paint for the teeth is even new now. I’m afraid to use this and was planning on using it for Halloween which in a week.

I ran the Zombie Run Challenge as a zombie and used this kit to make up my face. I had never done anything like this and I thought the results were great. It didn't take long to follow the instructions and end up looking very scary. I had a number of compliments on my outfit and quite a few people asked to have their picture taken with me. Overall, very pleased. There is a ton left over for halloween, probably the 3D gel is the limiting item and there is probably enough for 5 or 6 applications. There were only two makeup sponges and I had to throw them away because they would not clean up with water so I need to replace those, but that's not a big deal. But if you are going to make up a number of people at once, make sure you have some extras.The best part was driving home and scaring the lady in the car next to me at the stop light. Mehron is the best. If you want your zombie look to last all day, this is the kit for you. I normally purchase these items separately, but the kit is perfect. The coagulated blood is PARTICULARLY great. It dries wet-looking and is thick enough to add some major blood value.I usually use it to do either a "newly dead" or "rotting dead" look. It's great for that.The only thing that's not great about this kit is that a set of instructions are included, and the "women's" look isn't as badass and gross as the "men's". I thought that was stupid and absurd. May as well call it "gross zombie" and "still sorta pretty zombie". I docked a point for that.

First of all, this product is not made by Mehron. On top of that, the model number is different and the contents are completely different. Only three different colors of makeup are included, instead of the promised six. No color set powder is included and the Tooth FX Tooth Decay was not included as well. This is straight up bait and switch. I searched their website and could not even find a listing for the actual kit that they sent to me. So, obviously it wasn't an innocent case of accidently sending the wrong item. I have not opened the product yet, so I cannot vouch for the quality.
