Emerson Sensi Touch Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat with Touchscreen Color Display, Works with Alexa, Energy Star Certified, C-wire Required, ST75 (Renewed)

I bought it “used like new” and it so far works perfectly. Pristine condition, too. It works with Alexa, which is great, and the Sensi app is easy. Installation was super simple. The app comes with video instructions that are really well made. I love this thermostat. If anything changes, I’ll update this review, but so far, I’m extremely pleased.

Everyone seems to be on the *est bandwagon and I just don't understand. When I asked my heating and air tech what he would recommend, he gave me this. I have two of these in my current house and love them. Simple scheduling and wifi integration are awesome. I don't need a thermostat to do a hundred things; most importantly I don't want it trying to "learn" my schedule. That idea still just doesn't make sense to me. The setup can be a little tricky since you have to jump back and forth between the sensi app and your phone settings. The first try didn't work for me, however, with a little work, I was able to get it connected no problem.The backlight LED nightlight is awesome! It illuminates your hallway just enough. Unfortunately you do have to have that "C" wire to make it work properly. There is a way around it, however, I wouldn't suggest it. I don't know how it works with Alexa or all that voice activated crap because let's be honest, I'm not lazy. I can walk to my thermostat and change the temp or use my phone. Too many people rely on a digital voice to get things done for them. This item is basic enough to connect to wifi so you can adjust your temp as you like. Highly recommended!

I like this - it was a breeze to install from the wiring walkthrough on the app - to setting a temperature program - to integrating it with our JBL Link View.The display looks pretty cool too.Thinking of buying another but we would need build an addition on our house.

Ok, let's go. I have a 5 wire system, with the C or Common.That being said, you must SHUT OFF THE FURNACE FAN AND AC breakers. If you don't, you will blow the fuse on the fan control board. I shut off my AC but not the fan. Installed the thermostat and NOTHING. No power to it. Reinstalled the old thermostat. Got power because it used a battery backup, but the fan did not turn on. It clicked to turn on AC and the fan but nothing turned on.After replacing the 3amp fuse, (my furnace and fan are in my attic), I unplugged the furnace fan and turned off AC breaker, then unhooked the red R WIRE from old thermostat, wrapped the red wire with electrical tape, removed the other 4 wires.Installed the Sensi. Wired it up which was a snap. R to RH, G to G, W to W1, Y to Y and the Blue (Common) to C.Turned on AC breaker, plugged in the fan. THE SENSI CAME RIGHT UP.Next problem. To set up WIFI, your phone has to connect to the thermostat via the Sensi app. I created my Sensi online account and after my phone connected to the thermostat, I went thru the process of connecting the Sensi to WIFI.No go. Password invalid. Um, no. It wasn't. I read the troubleshooting tips which said to try a different smart phone. Really? Ok.I used my wife's iPhone (I use Android). Boom! Sensi locked onto the WiFi immediately. It downloaded a firmware update which I suspect fixed the Android issue. Don't know.After firmware update, I linked my Alexa account to the Sensi account. No issues.Works great. Don't have to get up to turn off the AC when my wife leaves the back door open for the *&#@$_$ dogs! I just say, "Alexa, set Temp Mode Off (Temp is the device name I gave the thermostat).Alexa responds with "It's off".When she shuts the door, I say "Alexa, set Temp Mode to cool".Alexa responds with "It's set to cool."I can tell her to lower the temp by 1 degree, to set temp to a specific temperature, anything.I do not use schedules. I prefer to set my thermostat manually. I may have it auto shut off at 9pm and come on at 9am, I dunno yet.It has Cool, Heat, Auto and Off.I need to learn how Auto works. I do not want it to heat if I set the cool to 75 and it's 72 in the house. I just want the AC to come on 76.The cycling can set to fast, standard or slow. I use slow so the compressor does not cycle of and on to quickly.So, to summarize.AC BREAKER OFFFAN BREAKER OFF or unplug fan.WRAP R WIRE WITH ELECTRIC TAPE (even if breakers and fan are off).Follow Sensi app instructions to wire system to the Sensi device.Connect to WiFi (if you use Android and it won't connect to your wifi, call a friend and use an iPhone).I should add that if you do not want firmware updates or use Alexa, you can use thermostats the old fashioned way.Enjoy!

Great product so far. Easy to set up and use. I love the phone app and Alexa integration. Keeps my house a comfortable temperature. It’s nice looking as well, which is a plus.

This is the 3rd time I have purchased this same thermostat - I bought a nest for my basement and was very disappointed and after 6 months it just stopped working. This Sensi took me 15 Mins to install and works very well. Im ever so happy with it.

Difficult to install. Customer support was lacking.
