Mikrotik CRS326-24G-2S+IN Switch Running RouterOS
This switch has been great for my home lab. Ive used it extensively for VLAN segmentation, running several VLANs with hybrid port configurations mixing tagged and untagged traffic - and it handles it easily. The serial console works great for out-of-band management, which is a must-have for lab work where misconfigurations happen. Putty seems to work best with the console cable, but I prefer Termius for SSH (I recommend connecting with a key/passphrase and disabling password auth for security). Also, Mikrotik gives lifetime updates on their devices unlike other brands who reach end of life and stop updating and patching vulnerablilities, which is one of the main reasons I run exclusively with Mikrotik devices. I also rather like using RouterOS. It has so many options that you typically only find in enterprise equipment at much higher price ranges. I would recommend this switch and Mikrotik to anyone and everyone.

Great addition to my modest home offce/lab
I was running out of Ethernet ports in my little home office. I also wanted to isolate my testing/lab environment's traffic from the rest of my apartment and prevent lab nodes from accessing the Internet. At this price point, you can't go wrong. This switch is packed with features! I highly recommend this switch to any upcoming home lab enthusiast on a budget, as long as you are okay with gigabit Ethernet ports! I connected this to a Mikrotik Hapax3 router, which does some inter-vlan routing.

Super advanced at a bargain price - for pros
Unreal features and software tools included - Highly recommended! I had to add a fan to use the 10 Gb CAT 7 Sfp as it gets too hot. I now have a 10 Gb fiber feed from house to shop and 1 Gb WAN connection. This is a hard core router and you will need to be a trained IT professional to tap its potential. I am studying hard to understand how to get three MikroTik routers to do all the things I want out of my home computer lab - I'm trying to train myself. Should have gone back to school but I'm really learning a lot.

Seems like a good device. No MikroTik rack mount kit, but possible alternative kit
As someone fairly new to MikroTik hardware, this seems like a pretty decent router/switch for the cost. I've only started configuring it and don't have it carrying production traffic yet, but wanted to comment on the rack mount situation. I'll try to remember to leave an updated review once I've had it running for a while and formed a proper opinion. It's unfortunate that MikroTik doesn't have a rackmount kit for this, since they have kits for some of their other desktop devices. Note that the pictures in the listing at the time of this writing do not show mounting holes on the sides of the unit. But the pair that I ordered in April 2026 both had a pair of holes on each side, so maybe they're thinking about it. Anyway, I really wanted to rack mount these without using a shelf. So I compared a lot of competitor size footprints and available brackets, in order to try to find a kit for a device of a similar size. I figured since most 19" rack kits have a little "wiggle" due to slotted mounting holes, I might be lucky and find something that would work even if the size wasn't exact. As it turns out, the width of the TRENDNet TEG-S16Dg/TEG-S24Dg form factor is within about 1/4" of that of the CRS. Since it's so close, I gambled and ordered a mounting kit to try it out. The mounting holes in the sides of the CRS faceplate/case were too small for the screws that came with the TRENDNet kit, so I had to enlarge them slightly (I used a 7/64" bit). But once I did that, everything went together nicely. The brackets fit (using 2 of the 4 available holes on each bracket), and it fits into the 19" rack perfectly.

Customer delighted
This is the 1st time I purchased a MikroTik device. I deployed it on a customer site and have had no issues. I love the robust OS that allows for secure firewall and VPN. The customer is delighted.

A lot of switch for the price!
This is a fantastic switch, especially given the price point and features, such as 10 GbE SFP+ interfaces and full RouterOS support (although the optional SwitchOS will likely work well for most users). I have it connected via SFP+ to an RB4011 supporting several VLANs, bonded interfaces, and many other capabilities.

Great switch. Powerful, configurable, complicated, and a bit confusing :)
This really is a great switch. I have two of them and they work really well at home. I only use it as a switch and don't try to use it as a router. I use it with VLANs, which can be very confusing to setup if coming from most consumer grade networking gear. I got it working but it took multiple hours to get it setup. And I say this as someone who has worked with computer and networking equipment for decades and my job is to write software. But still it was fun to get it figured out and working. And once it is working you can just forget about it.

It's the CRS326 rackmount in desktop chassis form.
Not really much else to add. Same old reliable switch, same stupid power brick, new form factor.

Simple y efectivo
