Great but a little pricey
We have been using these for several years now in our countertop compost container next to the sink. These work great. They will start to breakdown and dissolve with liquids but they work great for solid waste like veggie stems, eggshells, coffee grounds etc. They do seem to be tear-resistant, which is helpful. Just wish they were a little less $$...

We love these bags, but beware of the size.
Order some more right now so thought a great time to share. We personally have had no issues, but I see some people have had bad batches. These are extremely thin so I can see how this can happen from time to time. I work in manufacturing and our sister company makes packaging machines. I canโt imagine how difficult the process is of making these bags. These bags only last a few days before they start biodegrading. Any hiccup in the manufacturing/packaging machines and you can easily get defects. The fact is they work for their intended purpose of not lasting in a landfill. Most of the bags I looked at before I bought these actually had people test in their own compost piles and none performed as they claim. With the way these react to contact with food, I would guess that they are completely broken down within 3 months. So if you get a bad batch, itโs Amazon, just return it and order some more. We use the 2.6 Gallon bags in a 1.3 Gallon Compost bin. I cannot speak for any other size, but there is no way these are 2.6 Gallon, but they fit our bin perfectly. We have the Third Rock Compost Bin, round with the tree decorating the outside. We love it, never had an issue with smell or bugs. And it looks nice in the counter. Highly recommended. We carry the whole bin to the green waste bin, because yes, the bags will be already breaking down and you do not want to risk the bag breaking on you. If you donโt have that option, I would say at least double bag it.

Repeat purchase
I bought these before. Thereโs a lot in the box so if you go through say one bag every other day, itโs gonna lady a long time. Iโm now on our second box and Iโd recommend them. One thing to keep in mind is, if youโre composting items that produce a lot of humidity or liquids, the bag may start breaking sooner. I would recommend you take the whole bin to the compost before you take the bag out of it. Someone in my family thought they were smarter ๐and tried to do without the bin, and they ended up having to clean up my whole counter, and everything else, because all the scraps came out the bottom. Itโs also not going to hold heavy weight, so thatโs one reason to walk out with the bin. Itโs intended to decompose so itโs obviously going to be thinner than your average garbage trash bags. LOL! I rated mid low range for durability, leak proof and sturdiness because they are INTENDED to break down. If you expect them to not break apart at all, then they would not be compostable. Reason to use them instead of nothing in the bin, is so Iโm not soaping up my small compost bucket every time Iโm taking it out, and I donโt have any food scraps, coffee grinds etc left in it, that then would go down the drain clogging them. Theyโre certified compostable, or at least thatโs what it states, so my hope is thereโs no microplastic going into environment ๐ค๐ผ Iโd recommend these.

Donโt break down as fast. A little thick.
Fits our full circle counter composter.

Good quality and doesn't tear
This is the best batch of compostable bags I've gotten so far. They've held up really well in my compost bucket. I normally put dryish things in them, but even damp things are OK. When they're full, I tie them up and throw them in my city compost can for commercial composting. I've heard these kinds of bags don't break down as easily in home compost heaps and just get gummy and weird. I like that these come as individual bags in a stack instead of on a roll like all the other bags I've gotten. When they're on a roll, you have to be careful when tearing them off the roll, because they're so thin and fragile. These open up easily, and I haven't had any tear on me so far.

They are definitly Compostable
They do their job, they are definitely compostable. We left one in our canister in the kitchen to long full of food and it started to compose. Make sure you throw them in the main garbage every few days. That's what they are supposed to do, so it was perfect.

Sturdy bag, but watch out for leaking.
I bought these bags for my kitchen composting bin before I transition the waste to the Lomi, and overall, they have been a mixed experience. The bags feel strong and are large enough to fit most small trash cans, which is a plus. However, I didnโt expect the waste to start leaking through so quickly. While I plan to use them all, I was hoping for better durability, especially considering the price. Additionally, I've found that these bags donโt break down well in the Lomi composting system. After several attempts, itโs clear theyโre not suitable for that process. This was disappointing, as I was looking forward to using compostable bags in both my kitchen and the Lomi. While they do their job for basic kitchen composting, I would recommend looking for alternatives if you plan to use them with a Lomi or need more durable bags that can hold up with wet waste.

Strong, biodegradable and compostable.
BioBag (USA), The Original Compostable Bag, 2.6 Gallon, 100 Total Count, 100% Certified Compostable... I challenged the business end of a banana skin while I was tying up the over-full bag (note to self: don't over-fill). The hard banana stem didn't penetrate the material, even with extreme provocation, and dropping the bag into the empty green bin didn't breach it. The 16"x17" bag size is perfect for those 8L/2gal oval counter-top bins. I looked at other brands online, but I wasn't sure that they were biodegradable and compostable: the BioBag is not outrageously more expensive for that assurance. Bonus: the box dispenses the bags as singles. Yes, no more pulling and tearing! Happy with the product. .

they work well but disintegrate faster than expectedwhen wet
these tend to melt faster when wet so taking them out daily is a must .. I figure being environmentally friendlier as described It's to be expected. that being said, they hold up well otherwise, easy to open, very decent price. I will likely buy again

This is a great environmentally friendly product. Itโs great for bagging grass and leaves. Will purchase in the future.

Different sizes in the same box
These bags are crap. They split easily and are not all the same size. About half of them are too small and won't fit in the composting container. Save your money and buy another suppliers bags.

They work fine
They work. I ordered wrong size for my bin. Have to double up the bags. Compost still sweats out
