I enjoyed diagramming sentences decades ago and it’s easy to re-learn the parts of speech through this fun tool. I will show it to my seventh grade and fourth grade grandchildren and model my enthusiasm.

This series of 3 books on diagramming sentences is amazing! I am blown away by the analysis and planning that must have gone into these books. Each section introduces one new aspect of grammar and the sequence of sections is ideal. On top of that, there is very little text-based explanation or instruction needed - the concepts are beautifully illustrated by a handful of diagrams of example sentences. Those sentences were selected to cover the scope of the concept being addressed. How many different ways might this particular grammatical concept be expressed? Finally, the books are full of great exercises for your students. I highly recommend this series to anyone interested in sentence diagramming!

I purchased this book to help improve my wife's English reading, speaking and comprehension skills because English is not her native language and she never learned English very well. I've been tutoring her since I retired eight years ago, and while her vocabulary is fairly good, her understanding of sentence structure and the parts of speech (not to mention verb tenses!) has been challenging. She has completed eight of the twelve lessons in this book, and I believe the book is really helping her. It forces her to analyze each and every word in a sentence and to understand that each word is there for a good reason. It really helped a lot that the example sentences in Lesson 1 consist of a maximum of four words. Lesson 1 gave her the confidence to want to move on to the next lesson. This is a good thing because there are times when her motivation to continue learning is lacking.Another benefit of this book is that it is improving my ability to be an English tutor. I have learned that being fluent in English does not translate into being a good teacher. This book is helping me to re-learn rules and terminology that I have long since forgotten. (It helps that I had sentence diagramming in grade school many years ago -- I loved it)! I believe that my English is improving as a result.

This book was very helpful in learning how to diagram sentences. It makes it easy to understand and gives you many useful examples. I would recommend this book for a beginner only.

It's been a while since I diagrammed sentences, but it's something I've always enjoyed. The book leads one through the basics, getting progressively more challenging. It's easy to follow and encouraging.
