FAST pen drive, rugged design
These pen drives keep getting bigger, better and faster. I previously bought a 256 GB unit from this earlier Kingston line Kingston Digital DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 (DTHX30/256GB). While I didn't run any benchmarks Ihis unit seems noticeably faster (I use both models on USB 3.0) and has twice the storage. Mechanically it seems better designed too. The last one had a big head so a couple times I walked by my PC when it was plugged in the front of and accidentally shoved the pen drive sideways. This bent the USB connector and eventually it started flaking out. This USB connector seems more rugged and solidary with the rest of the body. One gripe with most pen drives, this one included, is it's easy to lose the cap if you carry the pen drive back and forth. There is no good solution, the kind with a retractable USB plug introduces more mechanical problems than it fixes. I would like to see a thin cord that ties the cap to the other end, which you can remove if you don't like. You can't improvise that yourself here as the cap doesn't have a ring like the other end.

Amazing product
This particular flash drive memory stick does exactly what it entails it does. It works perfectly for my Xbox360 console as an added memory unit. The only discrepancy I have is, the fact that they put 512 GB but the total amount that I saw it actually holds is 469 GB. Other than that, this product is amazing. Definitely worth the money. It doesn't overheat or anything like that even after several hours of usage.

I'd be careful...
After having two devices fail, I returned this drive and went with a different drive.I was planning to use the device to create a massive multi-operating system USB boot drive using a tool called YUMI - as I work in the IT field and having multiple operating systems in one place is extremely beneficial. However both times the drive failed it disconnected from my PC and returned in Read-Only Write protected format. After using many different methods, tools, and operating systems in my IT tool belt to attempt to salvage the drive, I finally gave up and accepted the drive failed.I presume that some of these devices are counterfeit. My reasoning is simple. Both drives I tried failed. Also the price point is concerning.HyperX Savage is the product line that is above the plain HyperX, yet this drive is 30$ less than the model below it. Peculiar.I ended up purchasing the regular HyperX for more money and haven't had an issue to speak of. I also pruchased a Patriot Supersonic XT and haven't had any issues. At any rate, I'd be careful purchasing this drive as you may end up with it failing suddenly in the future. There are other drives out there for similar prices, with similar speeds, that may work better. (I do love Kingston, just not the sour taste after this ordeal (or this device sold on Amazon's site)).

Very fast
This thing is fast for flash drive. Mine benches at 268 MB/S read and 220MB/S write. A bit less than that what was advertised, but for a flash drive, it's very fast. It's not the cheapest flash drive you'll buy, but it's much faster than the other $50 128GB 3.0 drives I have, it's easily more than twice as fast as the cheaper PNY Turbos I have. Seems well constructed too.

Trustworthy, Expensive, Heavy Leverage, Space-Hog
468 GB usable space. Same maximum file size as other flash drives (roughly 4 GB). “3.1 generation 1” simply means "3.0". It works fine in black 2.0 ports, but faster in blue ones. Although some cheap extreme-space drives are said to crash, this one’s legitimate. The size is larger than others, pushing the drives in adjoining ports slightly out of straight. It’s long and surprisingly heavy, as if the red X is thick steel. I’m worried that all this pushing and prying might shorten the life of the port, the drive next to it, and/or itself – especially since my computer’s ports are on the side instead of the top. The old style cap lets you insert and remove the drive without having to reach a lever, or otherwise hold the connector out. For most people, the better deal would be to get two or more smaller-storage drives. I got this out of the need to have a single high-storage drive. Although costly, it mostly satisfies my need. I wouldn't mind having a cheap terabyte USB flash drive that works, and has no restriction on file sizes.

Great drive!
I'm not sure what the original formatting was (probably some kind of Universal formatting so that everyone can see it) but I had to use Windows 10 to reformat the drive before I could see its full reach. After that process, I have no problems with it. I use it to hold movies and TV shows that I want to watch and there is no jitter or pixelation at all during playback.

Looks great, but less than a month this thing is already physically falling apart.
I'll be honest, I got this for the aesthetic only, and the USB 3.1 speed. The performance of the device seems to be fine, but what concerned me more was the physical quality. I've had this drive no longer than a month and the handle that attaches to a key-chain already broke after an accidental 2 feet fall. The paint on the red X is already wearing off as well.

Solid drive. Fast speeds. Cap stays on. Great product.
It works great. Solid flash drive. The design is pretty cool and the cap has stayed on solid for me. The speeds are super fast and consistent and I've had no issues with this drive at all. It's definitely my best flash drive I have at the moment. A little bit pricier than other USB 3.0 flash drives with the same capacity, but the speed is solid and faster than several of the others I've had. I would recommend this drive.
