I was raised around sports and rally cars so understand the importance of good lighting when driving at night. As my own motorsport interests shifted to motorcycles, the added importance of good lighting so you could be seen as a safety issue was reinforced time and again. I own a 2005 Audi A4 Cabriolet and had become concerned over the poor headlight performance with aging, cloudy lenses and was very interested in fixing my Audi’s problems and adding a big measure of brightness in the process. I ordered the H7 and H11 Lightening Dark Fanless LED lights that I was advised were correct for my car and got those yellowed, hazy headlights polished to a like-new glass clarity. The change from just that polishing with standard halogens was impressive enough, but I still wanted to see more. As it turned out, the timing of the change was fortuitous as the internal wiring in my headlights had lost all its insulation due to age or heat or both, forcing a totally unrelated repair to prevent probable shorts in the future.One of the challenges of switching to LED replacement bulbs can be “room for them”. Many headlights have very restrictive space limitations, and there was a small concern about having enough room for the low beam mounts in the Audi; there was ample room for the high-beam bulbs, but the H7’s fit just fine. The cable that runs off the back of the bulb contacts the back cover of the headlight assembly but is not crimped. There was plenty of open space inside the headlight assembly for bulbs and cables. I had no problems whatsoever in mounting these bulbs as direct replacements for the halogens.A second issue with converting to LED is whether the bulbs will be acceptable to CANBUS type systems that monitor for defective bulbs and there wasn’t even a delay in the Audi’s circuit validation accepting these bulbs as “working”.From there, you have two ways to evaluate the brightness of headlights: a totally subjective “I can see they are brighter” and photos or light meter readouts to prove the actual light output. I don’t have access to technical light meters but thought the traditional before and after pictures would tell the tale. There’s a problem there as well as, like everyone else, I rely on an automatic camera that would electronically normalize any picture taken and therefore eliminate much of the visual differences. As it turns out I have some experience with traditional SLR cameras and know that an “f-stop” change equals a “factor of 2” change in the light registering in the camera; 2X more or ½ less. This is true of each shutter speed change and each ISO change, so the settings my camera used could be used as my technical light meter. In fact, this presumption worked out in practical application. When I took the before pictures where there were 2 halogen lights for low beams and 4 lights for high beam, the camera used a single shutter speed step change in the exposures (cutting the light into the camera in half) between high and low beam pictures.I took 2 sets of before and after pictures. One set would be the view from oncoming cars of the high and low beam settings at a distance of about 110 meters, These were taken in a suburban neighborhood “under streetlights” that are not close together. The second set were taken on a dark country road, 0.3 miles from an abrupt left turn that was highlighted by a series of yellow warning arrows. I was hoping to show a difference in lighted distance and reflective light off the traffic arrows. The original pictures were all taken with the same zero-zoom settings so it has been necessary to zoom after the fact to show the real results. Comparing the shutter and aperture setting for the before and after pictures, the pictures with the LED lights were over 2 full f-stops, meaning there was 4-times the light available compared to the halogens. This isn’t scientifically accurate but even using this method for measurement the results are impressive.From the subjective view, the lights are very bright. At one point I had the LED’s (bright white) on one side and the halogens (yellower than I imagined by comparison) on the other side and the color and brightness difference was instantly apparent in broad daylight. When driving with just low beams there was not a lot of visual difference in throw distance or spread other than the noticeable color change. That visual color change is also a brightness change. The Audi’s low beam lenses are like “opera lenses” so may limit the spread and throw of the light. The high beams however were like instant daylight close to the car. I was a little set back at what seemed like a lack of “throw” for the high beam LED’s but my driving experience and the pictures back up the fact that there needs to be an adjustment of the headlight alignment. In the Audi reflectors, the focal point from the LED’s produces a lower beam of light than the halogens. This is an easy adjustment and I am sure I can get better distance with a minor adjustment on the horizontal plane.Overall, I am very pleased with the Lightening Dark Fanless LED replacements and would highly recommend them.

I have used this brand of lights in all of my vehicles for years! They always last a long time and if I’ve had an issue they always are quick to fix the issue! The lights are very bright and the quality is great! But…. Lightning Dark if you are reading this, please make sure that your Research and Development team makes it their mission to develop these light to fit just like the OEM lights. It seems like I’ve always had to modify something to get them to fit.

NOTE: The headlamp assemblies were replaced at the same time!Extremely satisfied with the purchase of these headlights. They light up the road for easy driving on low and directive on high setting. The main purpose for purchasing these is I didn't need to modify the dust covers.

Was a bit hesitant on buying these, but they turned out to be nice headlights. I was concerned it would hold up with no fan but would give them a try. I like the design of these, they are near the same size as original bulbs, and LED elements are positioned at same location as original bulbs. Simple, Pop the old bulbs out, then pop the new ones in, Done. I liked these bulbs. I ordered a second pair just in case one burns out, I have another to put in, because standard bulbs would look weird with one yellow headlight. Had a pair of these for about 3 months and their still going strong. These are a major upgrade from standard bulbs, but you should definitely take into account your headlight condition. Your headlights should be clear like glass. If you got fogged up headlights, it's not going to help much. Fogged up headlights just make them glow, but not light much down road. Light needs to travel, and fogged up headlights stop the travel at the fogged-up area, basically making them just glow, with the road ahead just dark. And headlights should be properly adjusted. Remember, Just because headlights come on, don't make them good to go.Will update if anything changes.

Very bright easy to replace factory bulbs don't know about longevity. When installing the lights need to be horizontal.

The second generation version of these LED headlights are a big step up from the original version, which had external drivers. They seem to have the same chip layout and possibly the same LED chips as the AGR Lighting Ultra 2 headlights that cost more than twice as much. Installation is straightforward. They need to be rotated so that the chips face 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock, but this is easy to do because the bulbs have closely spaced detents. Once the bulbs are installed, make sure the high beams are above the low beams. If not, just rotate the bulbs 180 degrees. The best way to align the headlights is to find a dark, level road and adjust the high beams up and down until they shine far down the road. you can make small adjustments if you don't use your high beams much and want more illumination from the low beams. The headlights have a very natural white light and a very uniform beam pattern with no hot spots or darker areas. These headlights are vastly superior to halogen headlights

Installed these on my mom's car at the beginning of DecemberVery easy to install but the first issue was immediate it's a 2 part install with the bracket being installed and then the bulb itself installed into the bracket, in theory a good idea but the bulb sits very loosely in the bracket and bounced around while driving I used a rubber gasket to add a bit of resistance and that seems to have resolved the issue for the time being, next problem is one headlight is slightly a different shade than the other and it's noticeably different from an oncoming view, final issue is although bright at short distance they do not perform nearly as well as my oem headlight bulbs. Disappointed but for the price it was sort of expected

Had to wait an extra few days to receive item and when delivered it was dropped on the inside of my fence at the corner of my home even though the gate was open. I did not receive any notifications that it was delivered, just happened to see it when I went to side window. I ordered on December 19th and it shipped on January 9th to be delivered by January 13th. On delivery day I received an email stating the delivery will be late after it was to be delivered. There was no option for faster delivery.The lights are great, much brighter than the halogen ones they replaced. They fit perfectly. No mods needed. Great product!

Easy to install they are so much brighter then oe and night during is so much nicer now that I can see
