Rubbermaid® FreshWorks Produce Saver, Medium and Large Produce Storage Containers, 4 Piece Set

I wasn't sure how these would perform but they were on sale so I bought them. I wanted to eliminate wasting produce I couldn't eat fast enough. They are absolutely amazing!!! I got these red peppers at Trader Joe's. I put four of the peppers in the large container and kept two in the plastic bag in the produce drawer. I ate one over the course of a few days so I had one left. Here is a photo of the peppers 10 days later. The one I kept in the produce bag and drawer is soft and shriveled, while the peppers I kept in the container are firm, robust, and just as fresh as the day I bought them, with no sign of going bad, so I'm sure it will last even longer. I love strawberries but they usually lasted about three days in my fridge before the green part got brittle and the berry looked unappealing. With these containers, they lasted 10 days!!! These containers are a miracle, and allow me to buy produce on sale and then keep it longer. They eliminate so much waste. Buy these---you won't be sorry!!!

Keeps the lettuce fresher longer and that was the reason I bought it.

These are good but you get what you pay for. The bottom is just raised bumps that mostly keep your food off the bottom. I have a “more expensive” container that is a basket in a tub that keeps the food completely off the bottom and it is better but it’s more expensive too. These do a good job keeping things fresher longer than without them so for that I give them “a good buy”.

These are great! I purchased two smaller and liked them so well I ordered this pair as well. They keep our veggies for days longer than I could have before. They take up a bit of space in the fridge, but they hold a lot. If they cost a little less I would have bought more.

Quality containers, perfect for fruits and vegetables. We love them keeps everything fresh. Easy open and close tops.

I have been using Rubbermaid Produce Saver Containers for years. I have been satisfied with how they perform in that time. Since I had a good experience with the containers I looked to purchase more. When I shopped for them I immediately noticed that the design had changed. There was no longer a separate green "bottom" tray, but just some "bumps" on the bottom of the containers to keep food elevated from the bottom. I was skeptical of the new design because I thought it was obviously a cost cutting measure, but decided to order anyway because of my past positive experience with the containers. In my experience the newly designed containers are not equivalent to the performance of the older design. Foods do not last any longer than in a regular storage container, and the lids do not fit snugly as they did on my original containers. For me, it seems like yet another product that started out good, but then suffers from redesign in order to maximize profits, rendering the product ineffective. Unless I can find the original version with the removable green bottom tray, I will not be purchasing any more of these containers.

I took a chance on these based on the mixed reviews and I'm glad I did. I use the big one for lettuce and it seemed to keep it fresh for quite some time before it started turning brown. I can't say how long exactly, maybe 3-4 weeks? I really should have paid attention.... The small one is great for fruit. I've had fruit start growing mold in a couple days in the containers they come in but in these, it easily triple that timeframe.

It's great to have lettuce last longer and not have to be thrown away. Saves money.
