From Bird

John Williams is one of the world's great guitarists, if not the finest classical guitarist alive today. Every trip to the music store finds me checking his bin, moving the John Williams the Composer disks to their right place, and waiting for a new recording. Not only is this quite probably his finest effort, but it is largely his own compositions. It is sublime! Buy it, play it, let it flow over you. After a bad day at work, this will make you whole again. It's wonderful. If ever less was more, these pieces prove the point.

I first heard John Williams play his own compositions live about 2 years ago and his own music ("From a Bird") was some of the most exciting pieces played even compared to some of the big pieces of the standard virtuoso repertoire that he played at the time. This disk, though hard to find, has been excellent with very high quality recording and the playing is superb as one would expect from him. An outstanding disc that deserves more attention.

John Williams! He doesn't do anything badly! These are his own compositions, and some are really nice.

Beautiful compositions by John Williams. Mr Williams (post Sony) recordings have been difficult to find in the U.S. I am glad to see it is finally available in the U.S.
