My 12 year old daughter really wanted LED lights in her room. She'd seen her friends with them. I thought they looked tacky so tried to dissuade her. My issue was that when you can see each of the LED's, it just doesn't look very good. I explored various ways in which you can mount LEDs behind wooden coving, or encase them inside plastic mounts but each way of doing it just involved a lot of effort and expense. I came across these LED Rope lights and I liked the way that the end effect is that you cannot see each individual LED light. They are more expensive as a result, but if you want the effect that I wanted then you need to pay a bit more. In terms of installation - a few people have said it was really easy to do. I wouldn't go as far as that, it took a lot of time and effort to get them up, and lots of swearing. To start with, they come with plastic fittings and small screws. My first attempt was to no nails the underside of each plastic fitting and work them up the wall and across the ceiling. I left them do dry for 12 hours and then tried to mount the rope. However, the rope light was too heavy and it pulled the plastic mount off the wall. I then decided to use the screws provided, but I wasn't confident they would screw in, and be held very well in to plaster. I used a drill to make a pilot hole in the middle of each fitting, which was made much easier since the plastic fittings were already on the wall and in the correct place. I then used the small screws and they did go in to the plaster well, and hold their place. The last step is to clip the rope light in to the plastic fittings. This was actually quite difficult, because the rope led is wider than the clamp of the fitting. So you had to ease one side in, pull the plastic clamp to the side and push quite hard to get the rope light in to the bracket. When you are up a ladder, holding the rope light in to place, trying to balance and force this in to the clamp, you can see how it's not that easy. The end effect is really good though. Positives: - Look really good, you can't see each led light - Lots of different colours, and it beats to sound/music - Remote control is fairly responsive - They have a heavy weight feel to them, they don't feel or look like cheap tacky LED's The negatives: -One issue with them so far, is that the ap doesn't recognise the lights, so we can't get the ap to talk to the LEDS. There is a remote, so they are still working, but it would be great if we could just connect to them via bluetooth on the phone. This may be something we can resolve with turning them off and on and turning off bluetooth etc. I can update at a later date if this is resolved 9/11/2023 EDIT - The recommended ap to use is called "Highlighting" from the Ap store. This AP wouldn't connect to the lights for us, however a different ap called "Lotus Latern" did work and control the lights - Malleability. They are quite bendy, but they won't bend in a certain way. In the 2nd image you can see that in the corner of the ceiling, the lights would not bend correctly in to the corner. They can bend left and right (like a snake) but not at a 90 degree angle back on themselves, so getting them round the corner of the 2nd wall was tricky and you can see that the light isn't quite facing the way it should.

I wasn’t expecting to be this impressed, but the AILBTON LED Neon Rope Lights have completely exceeded our expectations. The first thing that stood out was how vibrant the colours look. After some time and to reflect on this product, i have changed my review. Still not a 4 or 5 star review but given it's price point and what it can provide, it is a solid 3 stars. I have given it an additional 4 stars for the customer service and engagement they have made with a customer to understand it's shortfalls that i originally highlighted in regards to overall lux output and true customization options vs what you can actually do. So lets start, This is a rugged linear strip lighting, it is well protected, comes well packaged and instruction are very simple. If you use a Wireless 5ghz band only, i would enable 2.4gh as range can be an issue as can connectivity as the higher frequency with these types of Smart connected devices can sometimes be problematic.. The setup is simple though, it works brilliantly with SmartLife App and thus, integration into your Google Home, Alexa or Frigate Home Automation enviroments. Where this product does shine is "accent" lighting. Around the bottom skirting of a kitchen due to it's protective and sleaving, or a Bookshelf with a hidden void for such cabling and through-wiring. If you have coving or some sort of profile, it could also be installed as an "uplight trough" option which would create and equally decent effect. This product is not to light a room, it's purely there to create an atmosphere, setting a scene and at times... a bit of fun for the kids when you set up a "disco" scene or the audio-sync mode. Summary, for what you're paying, you're getting a whole load of tech in a single box thats very easy to use. It's certainly not cutting edge technology by todays standards and wouldn't be seen in any commercial grade setup but for the average home user that wants to spice things up and create a new feel to a space... you really can't go wrong.

Remote functions, colours modes and illumination, super happy, comes with the CR battery too. My issue was fitting, and flexibility that could be explained a tad clearer. So the power supply is only on one end of the light strip and can not be swapped, If you have sockets every where its great, or going low around the room its cool. for the ceiling, it gets trickier. if all you need is in place its fine. However, if like me the power source to not have the light upside down, you may need to move things, this also affects wall or ceiling placement. Flexible, its flexible flat like a rattle snake, doesn't come up like a cobra or out, bends but not folds., if that makes sense, this is noticed when tracing a wall or ceiling, depending on flat side or bum. overall product is fine, works and of nice quality, if your fixtures all align its brill, if not, its a pickle to orient everything to a smooth finish.

Honestly, these are okay but not great, the quality is okay, installing is easy with some 3m tape instead of screws for the funnels/clips and held well. Everything is great, app is not great either but who cares i didn't install it myself personally just used the remote. My only issue is the brightness is not great. Its really not that bright at all and would not use its for a feature wall behind a TV or something and only use it for under a desk or the side of your stairs as some subtle lighting in the dark to see where your walking. Yes i tried maxing out the brightness on the remote.

Lights came on time. Installing is easy just screw the clips into the wall to hold them permanently. Then you can push the rope LEDs into the clips easily, they hold tight and don't come loose. On the app you can adjust the lights brightness, colour change to music and a few other settings. As long as bloothooth is on pairing is instant, you also can use the remote however personally mobile is easier. Lights function as intended to give a nice ambient light behind furniture.

Delivery was fast, but the actual product is ok but just as bright as a cheap led strip if you want something that’s actually bright don’t buy this one, in total pitch black it’s ok but as for lighting up your room this is not the product for you, I returned my one as I brought for my shop but just isn’t upto the job

Don't waste your money. They worked poorly for a few months and now there are more lights that don't work along the strips than do.

I purchased these to add as X-mas lighting on my Jeep for parades and such. I attached the strip to the body with Alien Tape (good stuff BTW) and then wired it to a 12VDC to 24VDC step-up converter to avoid using an inverter. I had these installed for all of December in 2024 and they never missed a beat. I connected them inline with an LED tree on the roof as well to complete the look. I got tons of compliments as everyone seemed to like them. The strips are well made and should be able to be reused for the 2025 X-mas season.
