Star Wars Darth Vader Collectors Edition Costume
I looked at the various Darth Vader costumes many times. I made the decision to buy this one because it was the most reasonably priced of the bunch. I admit that I was drawn to this costume because it was the most authentic looking. So I had to justify spending this much money. Well when it arrived and I un-boxed the goods I was very glad that I did. This is the "Supreme Edition" costume which has the Darth Vader breathing sound. It's a little tricky using this gadget because you have to run the wire with the push button down the inside of the suit. It's a chore but well worth it for the effect. The issue is leaving enough slack in the wire to remove the helmet. Cast from the original molds the helmet is quite large. I found the lenses were cloudy like other reviewers have noted but not so bad that you couldn't make your way around. The body suit is very authentic looking and it gets very warm inside. Personally, I wouldn't recommend wearing this in the heat of a 95-degree day. The chest and belt boxes are lighted and the lights blink on the chest box. I had an issue with the "inexpensive" belt/sash used to hang the boxes from. I didn't like the idea of tying this sash from behind. So I decided to replace this item with a regular leather belt that I can buckle to one side. This made putting on the belt a lot easier and less likely to fall off. I found the cod piece was an unusual set up. It was designed to be held in place by a strip a Velcro behind he belt buckle. I decided not to use this method of securing the cod piece and it worked just fine. The external cape and inner cloak are made of very sturdy materials that should last for years. And, the shin guards are made from solid plastic. They attach with a zippered opening on the back. The only other issue I had was the gloves were very small for someone like myself so I had to replace them. I have to say that it is a challenge to put this costume on alone but it can be done. I am very happy with this purchase.

Very good, mostly
This is the same costume as the "Supreme" edition seen elsewhere and it says so on the box it came in. Everything fits well but the plastic used for the jumpsuit is very hot. I just leave the zippered back open because it is covered anyway, makes it a little cooler. The helmet is very spacious and I am installing two small computer fans to circulate the air. The eye lenses are pretty distorted but you can see through them, just not very good. Because the helmet is pretty large, breathing is not as restricted as I would have thought. The balaclava is too small and the gloves are just on the small side so I am replacing them. The codpiece has a strange belt arrangement but it seems to work. The "Vader" breathing device works well but you have to hold the button down continuously to make it work. All in all, a pretty neat costume. I assume the higher cost is because of the licensing costs with Lucas Film because they used the original molds, so they say. The box actually says "Disney" on the front.

Box came in rough shape
Was shipped without an outer box. Mask's breathing noise maker wire was cut and stripped and the control box is missing. Fortunately I have a much better mask I intend to wear with this. Other than that I can actually fit in the jump suit. It runs a bit big on me but due to my height I couldn't fit in the standard size. Accessories look great.
