I measured my LCI door. First time I measured the screen frame and ordered the 24" unit. Too short by a couple inches. OK . . read instructions for measuring again. Second time, I measured the inside measurement of the actual door frame (25") and ordered the 26" unit. Still too short by at least 3/4". I am not going to "make it work" for the price of the item and am not going to keep ordering the next larger item because their product does not fit their own door properly. Called LCI customer service and all he could do was read from his script. I have a right hand door per instructions (hinges on right, handle on left). I returned item.

Seller responded promptly with my order.The concept of this item is very good. However, the actual construction is very flawed in terms of mating it to the exact door for which it was designed; i.e., if you follow the simple installation instructions, the spring/shroud/end bracket assembly will literally fall off without even applying any tension to it (which must be done, of course, for it to work). I made this product work by improvising: Using a couple of metal clamps shaped like question marks (the type commonly used to anchor metal conduit or pvc), I screwed one to the door frame on each side above the tube assembly and to the immediate inside edge of the plastic brackets. These clamps give it vertical support, and, more importantly, tension the brackets' grooves into the male edges of the door frame, left and right, that are supposed to secure it.Again, I think the concept is very good, but the "milling" of the plastic end -bracket grooves is incredibly poor: The brackets insert only minimally into the door frame edges. This device will not work without modification/improvisation.I paid $15 more for this product than what Amazon sells it for because the seller had it in stock and Amazon said it'd likely not ship for 1 to 2 months! By then, the summer's half over, unfortunately! Do you suppose Amazon, the seller, or Lippert will step up with even a partial refund?...

We live in southern GA, in the Gnat Capital of the World. Making sure the door handle access door is closed can drive you crazy as you swat and smash gnats in the RV. Install took less that 5 minutes, including cleaning the area it was mounted. Easy to follow directions, immediate results. I imagine this will also be what cat and bird owners who travel with their pets will find this something they have to install.Just make sure you don't press on the bar unit until you have it lined up and placed exactly where you want it. The adhesive tape is the same type 3M tape used to attach trim to cars.....virtually impossible to easily remove after it makes contact with the surface it attaches to.The only thing to be aware of, the spring will snap the access door shut. Small children might find their hand gets banged as the access door is closed. However, there is no other way to make sure it will close and stay closed

Got correct size no problem but hardware did not work. Got different screws and after much exasperation got it installed. With door in open position it slammed shut which was exactly NOT what I wanted. Can't go out with hands full without fighting the screen door. Took it back off and will have to return or sell.

It is not super powerful but with a little nuge or if it is closing from an open position it works fine and won't slam the screen door. It won't close the outer door if the screen door is latched to it however this would have just been a bonus if it did. The tube the spring and strap are in was slightly too short (22" model) for the fittings at the ends to be snug however I just took some cardboard from the box it came in and put it in the end with the spring to lengthen it overall to get it snug. It would have probably been fine without it but I wanted a little more surface contacting the door when it was pushing. The strap that goes into the door frame had some extra strap after they eyelit but you can cut it off and melt the end to keep it from fraying. It may be best to put the screw as far as you can go into the frame to get the most pull from the spring.

Purchased for our travel trailer. It’s fit as expected since our screen door is made by the recommended company. Screwing in the closer end into the door frame was a little difficult trying to keep the end in place with the spring’s pressure. It will close the door, just not with very much force. We haven’t gone camping yet so we’ll reserve judgement on how we’ll it works with normal use. We believe it will do the job. We give it 4 stars because it’s not a very forceful closer and on testing it a little, sometimes you have to give it a little push.

The instructions on measuring your door are confusing, I bought the wrong size. If you buy this, measure the outside frame of your door from outside the camper. You want to measure the widest point of the outer door frame and then round up. Always buy bigger, a 22-24" will NOT fit a 24" door as insinuated.

Saw this on a brand new RV. I liked it so much I had to buy one for my rig. Easy install (use blue painters tape to hold it in place while installing). We love that we can keep the flies out when someone doesn’t close the door.

Not only is the description of length deceiving when ordering (it gives a range of 2”) so when you order, it may or may not fit. Going by that, I apparently ordered the wrong size. Many customers have complained about this. Upon further inspection it was not even the size described on the package, which leaves me to believe that what I had received was a return from a previous customer...not only that, the packaging was barely sealed. Not New. Working with customer service was draining. Eventually they refunded my purchase. I was hoping to reorder the correct size from the seller, but I was out shipping cost to send back this one. So getting another one was not worth the cost.

We purchased a 30 inch for our 29.5 Lippert screen door. This is a great concept for use when camping with kids and a dog. Originally my husband installed the screenshot following the installation instructions exactly. However the latch on right side kept popping out when the door opened. He added a piece of plastic tubing in one end to extend the existing tubing and voila works exactly as intended. Love it. Don’t have to go back to close the door each time kids head out. Lippert needs to make modifications otherwise I believe they will be having many of these returned. Also we added the screen defender and both go well together.

Nice product to keep you rv door shut ! Easy to install ! It can be install on other door than the Lippert one but too make sure take 1 size bigger than you need so this way you can cut it as you need and you don't end up like me and orthe an other one ...

Perfect item to ensure that the door always is closed. Great to keep pests and bugs from coming in because the screen door was not shut. Highly recommend great quality and really fast delivery.
