Good stuff but have to wash it
I wanted the organic cotton since this would be near my face.It reeked of chemicals. I contacted the company and all they said (via email) is the smell probably came from the plastic bag.Why go to all the trouble to producing organic cotton and then wrap it in a gross toxic plastic bag? They made no effort to make me happy as a customer

I made the perfect pillow for MY neck with this cotton. It's great!
It's WONDERFUL. I used it to make myself a pillow for sleeping, using a cotton zipper pillowcase, and I filled it with exactly the right amount of batting for ME. And it is very comfortable--I couldn't be happier. I've been trying all sorts of different pillows and having all sorts of problems for quite some time now (having had cervical spine surgery and still having other issues). This cotton batting is great. It doesn't stink, no toxic offgassing, soft and comfortable, easy to work with. I'm glad that I bought a 5-lb bag, because I have plenty left over in case my pillow compresses after a while or I want to make another one.

I think this 'batting' is a better choice than just the 'organic raw cotton fiber' offered ...
Organic Cotton Batting - Natural - 1 Pound I bought 1 pound to test-stuff two zipper-opening inexpensive empty pillows with large peacock feather patterns for a two-year-old grand-daughter (who loves peacocks). She helped me take handfuls of the compressed-bagged batting and put it into the pillows. Since it is very soft and organic with no discernible plant stems, etc. - when she grabbed a handful and put it to her face to pretend to sleep - I was not concerned. I am ordering 5 more pounds to do several more pillows which need to be sewn from old needlework that I had done. I think this 'batting' is a better choice than just the 'organic raw cotton fiber' offered by the same company.

Break away from crappy polyester fills. This is a winner!
Very happy with to find this product. I knit animals and loathe the polyester batting - always felt cheap and unworthy of the work I put into making my knitted dragons, monkeys etc. I sometimes like to weight my creatures with plastic pellets for more heft and the combo of pellets and this batting is heaven. Some pieces don't require the pellets - the batting is often sufficient and always wonderful to work with. Can be fluffed out or dense as you like. These is also much more that I initially thought. A great product. Glad I took a chance.

Soft Organic Cotton Batting for your stuffed animals, dolls, pillows, and other homemade projects!
I am very please with this organic cotton batting! I wanted to make a pillow for my sofa and wanted to find a good source of organic cotton batting to do so. I am trying to buy more natural and organic foods and items for my house. I also wanted some batting for little stuffed projects.First, the cotton batting came in a bag which weighed in at the full pound as advertised. It is so soft! I had never purchased cotton this way before and wasn't really sure what to expect. It is easy to separate into just the amount you need for your desired project. How refreshing to get the real thing and not a polyester imitation! Good value for your money.

Clumpy/smelly/not cleaned
I bought this to re-stuff my daughter’s favorite bear for her birthday. First off, it feels nice. But that’s about the end of the good news. Immediately upon opening the packaging I noticed it smelled weird, which could be normal for new cotton, and it was full of debris. I got the bear all stuffed and decided to wash it to get rid of the smell. Well, all it did was clump up and get really heavy. It’s possible I over stuffed it a bit, but even after drying it through several dryer cycles it’s clumpy. I even put shoes and dryer balls in the dryer to help break it up. Shoulda got polyester. I should also add that the bear is about the size of a queen pillow and I used one bag of stuffing. Update: I’ve been drying this bear in the dryer over and over since 3am and it’s now 2pm and the cotton is still damp and it still smells weird and it’s still lumpy. Had I known this would be the case I would not have purchased this.

Pleased with Purchase
I was pleased with the softness and how easy it was to stretch. I used in my daughter's 3 ft teddy bear to add extra fluffiness.
