Keeps the baby from gnawing on the dirty shopping cart handle
Pros:1. Machine washable2. Keeps the baby (relatively) secure3. Bonus pocket in the front (for keys, toys, etc) and 2 loops for hooking baby toys4. Fits the majority of shopping carts.5. Soft cloth and materials. Looks very cute.Cons:1. Very floppy (more below)2. Not very thick padding3. Can be a bit cumbersome to secure to the cartSummary:This functions very well to act as a barrier layer between your baby and the shopping cart. It's generously cut so that it will fit just about every shopping cart out there... Which means that the seatback side is a little too big. There is also no backboard or anything stiff, so the back is very floppy and gives no support (other than what the cart provides). So no matter how I cinch it down, the baby has a lot of mobility. The straps won't function to secure the baby like your carseat straps. I'm pretty sure that it is simply there to make you feel like the baby is secure... I have no faith that it will keep the baby from falling out of the cart. My 9 month old is able to lean forward and shift side-to-side enough to give me the willys. This seat cover is also cumbersome to secure to the cart and takes about 3-5 minutes of knot tying. Each corner has cloth ties that requires weaving it through the metal/plastic side of the cart and then tying it down. This could be faster if the cart cover used velcro straps instead of what look like laces. The cart cover looks very soft and well padded, but in reality it's about a quarter inch thick at most. No thicker than the flimsy changing table cover you have in your diaper bag. However, despite these faults, the cover does a great job providing a nice barrier for the baby, and we use it everywhere. The small pocket in the front of the seat cover works great for holding coupons, the loops offer places to hang baby toys to keep them busy, and best of all, it's machine washable... although after a couple washes it gets even more floppy. As other reviews suggest, it's nearly impossible to fold back up into a nice square package. So I just bunch it up and put it in a reusable shopping bag.

Brilliant
She loves it and so do I. The toy clips are great and I get tons of compliments on it. I do with the harness was attached to the part that slips over the back of the cart seat but she sits up so perfectly at 7 months it is not to bad.

I use this every time I go grocery shopping with my daughter. It seems very comfortable for her and I like that it fits a Target cart which is wider than a standard grocery cart.A few things I don't like:- The straps are not attached to the backing of the cover. I had read about this ahead of time in a review and that person had said they just put a few stitches in to fix the problem. I did the same thing and it did the trick. However, I really feel like Carter's should address this problem as you don't want your baby/toddler flopping all over the cart or being able to lean too far forward.- I wish that the cart cover was large enough to fit on BJ's/Costco carts. A little additional elastic would go a long way.

I'll keep it, but not what I was hoping for
My second child is much younger than my first, so we had gotten rid of a lot of baby stuff, including the cart cover. When I was looking for a new cart cover, I knew I wanted something with a harness instead of just a lap belt. I remembered my son doing a lot of lunging by the time he got to be 12-18 months old, and I wanted a cover that would provide a bit more security. Although this cover has the harness, it's not actually attached to anything. It's hard to tell from the picture, but the section that goes over the back part of the cart seat and the section with the harness are actually two separate pieces, allowing the baby to lean forward as much as they want. The harness is adjustable, but is not very accommodating for younger babies. I started using this with my baby when she was 8 months old and even adjusted to the smallest size it was still loose. The cart is made to fit Target carts perfectly, which seems to be the biggest cart size, so that's good. The colors are cute and the seams are well sown. It is easy to wash. It's not any more or less difficult to put on with one hand than other cart covers. So I like it okay, but it was not what I was expecting by looking at the pictures.

There is no padding
Only thing I wish it had was, padding....at a least of some sort. But the sraps do make it harder for the little one to try to bump her head. But she dint seem to nuns it all.

Great use
Slightly too small for target carts but still does the job. Love it overall! Used for my daughter when she got interested in trying to sit up and i was very happy that it didnt allow her to fall over

Nice cart cover, but doesn't fold up very nicely (remains bulky)
Started using this more and more now and very happy with the purchase. It's a nice fabric that covers up most parts that our baby would reach when sitting in a cart. Only complaint is that when its folded up it takes up a fair bit of space. Would be better if there was a way to roll it up and clip / velcro it to allow for a tighter package for transport.

Almost perfect
This cart cover works great! It is a little tight around the red plastic baskets at Target, but otherwise works very well!! Very easy to clean and not too bulky to carry. It can be a little cumbersome to use in a restaurant style high chair since there isn't really a way to align the foot holes in the cart cover with the high chair and keep the cover in place. Other than these minor issues the cart v=cover has been a great purchase.
