Extremely Powerful Little Flashlight…
This is an extremely Powerful and Bright little flashlight that we have tested for 2 months before we placed our orders for all of our fire stations. I am a Fire Chief in Arizona and we always are looking for the best equipment that we can find. We first tested one of the Simon DU2 LED flashlights and the Simon Panasonic 18650 batteries for several months and found them to be extremely powerful and reliable combo for the price. We liked the that the ON/OFF switch is on the tail cap, it makes it extremely quick for a fire fighter turn on the light every time because we know the switch is on the tail cap compared to the traditional style lights. We don’t have to try to grab a light and fumble around a few seconds to try to find the switch somewhere on the body of the flashlight. Costly Seconds can be wasted and we don’t have seconds to waste when we are in any Emergency Situation.Next, we liked how it always starts on a high beam and then we can cycle through the other beams and choose the brightness that is necessary for the job at hand. The DU2 light streams very far for this little lightweight led flashlight and it helps to see far in front in many types of emergencies. The Most Important Benefits that we Needed Are:1. Lightweight2. ON/Off on Rear Tail Cap3. Always Starting on High Beam4. Small and Compact SizeWe have tested these DU2 flashlights and purchased them for several stations and now are working with Simon Flashlights Direct to help design other application for led Flashlights for Fire Fighters. If you’re in need of a bright, small compact led flashlight then I can recommend the Simon DU2 flashlight with the Simon Panasonic protected 18650 batteries.

Fantastic little flashlight!
In a nutshell: the Simon DU2 LED Flashlight is a fantastic buy for the price!I purchased this intending to use it while working on computers or in small areas where there is not much light but it is crucial to see things, which it works great for.It also however is much, much brighter than I could have imagined! It works fantastic for walking the dog at night, and other things outdoors in low visibility/after dark. I live on about 2 acres and it can illuminate all the way to the end of my property at night; enough to clearly make out the trees/bushes and it would be enough to make out a face if somebody was that far away. The light has 5 different modes, and I love the way that the button works. You push the button all the way down to turn on the light, and all the way down again to shut it off (In any mode). It turns on to 'High' mode which is the brightest and uses the most power, then Medium, Low, followed by 'Strobe', and lastly 'SOS' (Blinks relatively slowly in Morse code).I am also happy with my experience with Simon (The company that makes this). I have received emails from them along the way regarding the order, making sure that I am satisfied, and also to check that I did receive the item. I'm sure that these emails are automated but even so, it makes them stand out and I get a good impression on them. Even though I have not contacted them I am sure that they would have great customer service. Also a quick note, because I was not aware of this: The bulb is not replaceable like on a traditional flashlight, it is permanently connected to the circuit board, so when the LED dies you have to get rid of the whole unit (Keep the batteries though!). But since it is an LED it should last a LONG time anyway. They advertise it as 100,000 hours.Feel free to comment on this review if you have any questions for me!

GREAT FOR SELF DEFENSE
I just received my flashlight, charged the batteries and tested it once it got dark. It works as well as described, it's easy to use and I will feel much safer now that I have it. I need it for a domestic situation and wanted something small enough I could carry in my pocket. It is a little big for my jeans pocket, so I will have to figure something out. I plan to use it in conjunction with pepper spray. I am hoping that this will be enough for me to feel safer, especially when I sleep. The reason I gave it only 4 stars is because one of the batteries shows in the charger that it is charged, but it does not work in the flashlight. So I need to send it back, pain :(.But as far as it working as advertised, it's just like they show in the pics. I have 100 ft. fir trees that it lights up quite spectacularly and I like the strobe feature, it will easily 'blind' an attacker.

DU2 is Better Than Expected!!!
I was "pleasantly surprised" about the new Simon DU2 led flashlight. I was not ready for how far the light shoots to a distance for something so small.I have to admit that I do own several Simon T6 flashlights and they do a great job on a wide variety of tasks that I use them for but they are not designed to shoot light really far ahead of me and I have had used them for years with no issues. So when I received and email that said that they were getting ready to make available the DU2 to the general public, it was a no brainer. I bought it.I also bought the Simon Panasonic 18650 rechargeable batteries that they recommended in the Instruction and I think that is what helps giving DU2 so much power. I now have a great little flashlight that can really shoot a beam of light well into the distance in front of me while I am on the trail hiking or around the perimeter of my campsite at night. http://www.amazon.com/3400mAh-PROTECTED-Panasonic-NCR18650B-Batteries/dp/B00TCRZDJA/I know that it is designed as a tactical led flashlight but, I don't use it as one. The flashlight is well made and fits snug in my hand and it seems to be lighter than the other Simon T6 flashlight that I own even though it is larger.Over all I am pleased with my purchase of the DU2 light. It is a great value and well made!
