HALO Bassinest Swivel Sleeper Replacement Mattress Covered with Organic Cotton

Like many other reviewers, I purchased this item to replace the mattress with a healthier alternative.When you read the marketing on the packaging and then look at the tags, it's amazing that this company is allowed to sell this product in this manner. The cover is NOT made of cotton at all and the tag states that the mattress is made of 100% Polyurethane Foam.If you're looking for a cotton/organic replacement mattress for the Halo Swivel Sleeper - do not buy this item.

Could this mattress be better made with some better materials? YES! Is it better than what comes with the HALO originally? 100%. This mattress (in my opinion) is the best option available if you’re looking for a non-toxic option to replace the mattress. I reached out to naturepedic (our prefered crib mattress brand) and they will not custom make a halo bassinest mattress so this is your option. NO it’s not soft and it’s not supposed to be soft! It’s supposed to be firm, this is for a newborn!! Get yourself some organic non-toxic fitted sheets to go with this and you’ve prepared and made a better choice than the standard mattress that comes with it. There are NO flame retardants used with this products - do your research! Read up on this. Look at the certifications that come with this product. I think we can all recognize it could be better but for what it is, it’s BETTER than the alternative.

The pictures are NOT accurate, first of all. I am disappointed with this product because the advertising is grossly misleading. I was hoping for a true organic mattress with no VOCs, and I'm certain I did not get that. He's been sleeping on it for 6 months (his whole life), and I feel awful that I thought it was safer for him than it was. We'll be switching to his Newton crib mattress ASAP now that I have read the other reviews and know what I know. I wish I could return this.

I took a chance on this and bought this item because I thought there was no way the namebrand company would be shipping a product not as advertised and needed a bassinest mattress ASAP. BUYER BEWARE. HALO is, in fact, charging for the organic replacement mattress and shipping out the regular replacement mattress with an "organic" UPC label slapped on the package (the organic mattress is double the price of the regular one). How do I know this? I already have one of each of these mattresses, and this is absolutely the regular mattress with a false UPC added to the packaging. I have returned the product for a refund and have spent half an hour trying to find a way to report this listing, but it appears that Amazon has removed the ability for buyers to report sellers (only sellers can report other sellers). Taking advantage of new moms isn't a good look, HALO, and making it impossible to report false advertising is shady, Amazon.

This product is falsely listed/advertised. One of the increasingly common Amazon product scams out there. It is not made of organic material - it is made of polyurethane foam - and it does not come with an organic cotton cover (there was no cover included at all.) Even the magnified photo of the material is completely misleading. It is not covered in a fabric like shown, but with plastic. It fits nicely in the bassinet, but it is loud/crinkly (bc of the plastic), and although a standard sheet fits on it when forced, it was a really tough fit. Do not recommend buying this product.

Scam and false advertising! When you finally get to see the tag on the mattress it's made of 100% polyurethane. I was so angry after spending hours trying to find a non-toxic mattress for this bassinet. We are skipping the bassinet and using our Ikea natural crib and Naturpedic mattress.

I was looking for a thicker & cushier mattress than the Bassinest comes with. This one is thicker, but it's much firmer. It does have a tighter fit in the bassinest which is good. I know babies are supposed to have a firm sleep surface, but this one is a bit much. Not sure this one is worth the price after spending so much on the Bassinest itself.

Why doesn’t it fit that well in my halo bassinet? Too much space between bassinet and mattress. Why don’t halo sheets fit either ?
