In July 1950, the F-84F entered production. The F-84F was not declared operational until May 1954 due to production, control and stability problems. In 1955, the entire fleet of F-84F was grounded due to engine failures. As the result of the problems, the active duty phaseout began almost as soon as the F-84F entered service in 1954 and was completed in 1958.
