Lavazza Pienaroma Whole Bean Coffee Blend, Medium Espresso Roast, 2.2-Pound Bag

This is such a great blend, very impressive!It has a very complex flavor, and is not flat by any means. I do drink it straight, but I will say you would prob like to use this in milk based drinks more than drinking it straight.When in good milk, has a very earthy chocolatey flavor. Sometimes I think I am drinking hot chocolate! It has a very dense flavor on the tongue, and the first time you drink it you will want to savor every sip to just appreciate the complexity of the blends flavor.I am biased and prefer dark oily roasts. But I always keep a big bag of this in the freezer and have it every day or 2 when making a cappuccino. It also supposedly has less caffeine than the other Lavazza blends, and I can attest to that. Dark roasts sometimes miss the department in complexity with flavor, but sometimes you want a nice strong kick in the morning or in a straight shot. But for all the other times? Get this, very very impressive.

great tasting

I have been using Lavazza beans for years, first at my cafe in VT and now as a regular coffee drinker at home.Previously I bought the Super Crema beans. But I prefer all Arabica so I have switched to Pienaroma.I find these beans make a smoother espresso with a sweeter finish. The crema is rich and thick.You can drink this brew as an espresso or with milk. It makes a better espresso than blends with robusta beans.My only criticism is that the beans are not as fresh as I would like. I have had them when it was clear they werefreshly roasted as soon as I opened the bag. The aroma was intoxicating. However, the convenience of gettingthese beans sent directly at a good price makes up for the lack of freshness.However, I have to add that I have been a coffee "fanatic" all my life and now at this late age of 69 I haverelaxed my standards just a little bit. It's a lot of work to have the perfect beans and the perfect espresso.This makes an espresso that is very, very good and if the beans aren't the freshest, then that's ok with me.

I don’t get tired of this coffee.

The bag was not vacuumed sealed. The coffee beans were extra dried out and brittle. The beans were stale and the bag says it had been roasted in 2018. I went ahead and tried the beans in my espresso machine and it was simply old tasting and awful. Total waste of money.

I really love all the Lavazza coffee blends but Pienaroma has been our favorite. It has a great balanced flavor and a nice crema.

American coffee snobs are sure that locally-roasted made-in-the-USA coffee is the best, simply because Americans have roasted it. But please remember that the very word "espresso" is Italian, and that it's an Italian style. In Italy, almost 1 of every 2 cups of coffee drunk is Lavazza; they have an enormous market share. Even if an Italian prefers coffee from Illy, or from some regional torrefazione, they've drunk hundreds of cups of Lavazza over their lives; it's what coffee is supposed to taste like, to the Italian palette. Within Lavazza's many lines, this is their low-acid all-Arabica blend. It tastes great, and is very easy on the belly.

A nice darker roast coffee that my automatic machine can use

Acostumbrado al Lavazza Gold, probé este café y sencillamente me encanta; tiene un sabor mucho más intenso; perfecto para una cafetera superautomatica.
