Great value, paid for itself already!
After weeks of researching espresso/ coffee combination machines, I rolled the dice on this one. Based on other review, it seems the manufacturer has good customer service if I were to have a problem with the machine. Turns out every brand of combo units have mixed reviews, and there isn't a perfect machine out there. All combination appliances are a gamble, the more working parts, the more chances of something going wrong. We have a small kitchen, and don't have space for two separate appliances, so we needed a combo unit.If you're spending less than $200 on a combo machine, you really shouldn't expect perfection. That being said, this machine has been well worth the investment and has been a great value for price. I've been using it for a month, lattes and coffee daily, and it has been fantastic! It performs as well as it looks, and the coffee/ espresso tastes great. I used to have a Krups combo machine that cost almost 3 times what this one cost, and it died after exactly 1 year of use. This machine is much easier to use and maintain than the Krups unit. If I get a year out of it then I will be completely satisfied. I drink lattes daily, at $5 each if I can't make them at home, so the machine has already paid for itself.UPDATE: 11/2/18 this coffee machine has been used daily for TWO years and still works great!! Extremely satisfied with this purchase!

Works great until it doesn't.
This is the third of these Combo coffee/espresso/steamer products I have purchased from DeLonghi over the past several years. I buy them because I love cafe au laits on the weekend, and there aren't many products that are a coffee maker and milk steamer combined, and I have yet to find a stand-alone milk steamer (frothers, yes, but not steamer). The first two lasted what I felt was a reasonable amount of time -- let's face it, coffee makers die after a year or two. I've come to accept that and move on. However, this latest one was purchased December 22, 2016. Now, three months later, the coffee-maker part of the machine has stopped working, We noticed first that the warming element was not working and the next day the machine would not brew coffee. The coffee part of this machine has been used daily. The milk steamer maybe every other weekend, and the espresso maker has never been used. I always use filtered water from the refrigerator. It is sad (and somewhat confounding) that DeLonghi cannot make a quality product. FWIW, I had a Capresso brand a time or two, as well, and those are just as poor of quality. The coffee maker itself is reasonable (I've had better and I've had worse). The coffee pot holds only 10 cups, which might be an issue for some households (it was on the edge of "enough" for us). The steamer works great, but the threads on the plastic steamer nozzle stripped out the first time I removed it for cleaning after use and then tried to replace it (after which, I didn't remove it anymore for cleaning -- I just submerged the nozzle in a cup of water and ran steam through it then wiped it down well). On my previous models, I removed the nozzle to clean it after every use with no problem. One of the pins that holds the lid onto the coffee pot broke within the first week or two... so quality appears to be dropping on the plastics they use, as well. (We are adults and we are NOT hard on items. We have had many of our appliances for years.)I really want to like this product. I want to have freshly brewed coffee weekday mornings, and my lovely cafe au laits on the weekends. I have tried, but really, DeLonghi, three strikes and you are now out. I am flabbergasted that it is so difficult for jANYmanufacturer to make a quality combo machine at a reasonable price.

no more trips to the coffee shop!
I am shamelessly addicted to Biggby, our local coffee shop. They make the best espresso drinks. I was spending $6 a day on lattes but I decided I could no longer continue this horribly expensive addiction, so I set out to make these at home. My husband, however, likes traditional black brewed coffee. We have a small kitchen with little counter space, so I was looking for a hybrid machine to prepare both of our preferred coffees in one spot. This is PERFECT. It took a little bit of reading, but after 1 week of use I've got it down to a science. I love my espressos and he loves his drip coffee. In the end, this will be a huge money saver for us. I am happy to say I am 1 week coffee shop free (where's my token?!). If I could make one improvement, it would be the ability to set an auto timer on the espresso side. unfortunately you can only do this with the drip coffee side. However, it's not a deal breaker by any means, it only takes 2 minutes when I push the button.

Disappointed in DeLonghi
Sometime ago we had a DeLonghi combination machine and we were quite happy with it. I recently purchased another for my husband as a gift. Just two weeks after it arrived it began to malfunction. We returned it, replaced it and had been quite satisfied for approximately 5 months. Suddenly, this machine did exactly the same thing as the other machine and ceased to work. There seems to be something consistently wrong with the digital timer mechanism. I won't be re-ordering this time. I'm very disappointed.

Shame on Amazon for selling this garbage!
Let me start by saying that Amazon should be absolutely shamed into submission for selling such garbage as this for such a high price! This machine blows water through the portafilter seal. It does not froth the milk well enough. It also has a leak someplace inside because the digital clock is steamed up from the inside. Shame on you amazon!! Do not buy this plastic pig. I have had to return many items this past year to amazon, for the first time in 20 years! Shame on you amazon!
