Great product, fragrant and fresh
Ordered these to make a shrub, for cocktails. The recipe called for pears, white wine vinegar, sugar, juniper berries and thyme. The berries gave it an almost peppery, herbal flavor and scent. Used Absolut Pears vodka, ginger liqueur, the juni-pear shrub, a splash of lemon juice and ginger ale to make the cocktail. Super tasty, and this is a good way to use this product if you have some leftover after making a brine for meat.

Deliciciously rich, delicately piny, and sweet!
These juniper berries are absolutely delicious! Though information is not yet available on dosing (small amounts recommended at this point), juniper berries have been found to be helpful in heart burn, bloating, other gastrointestinal upset, and urinary tract infection. I intuitively ordered some because I began craving the taste out of the blue, and I was so pleased with how chewing just 3 or 4 made me feel when my digestion was off. The flavor has the expected fresh aroma of pine, but these particular berries are special because they have a bit of sweetness that even my father says he’s never encountered before - and he’s been farming trees in Colorado for many years! I am sure these will add wonderful flavor to the meats, cakes, puddings, and chocolate I plan to enhance with them.

Love Juniper Berries....
I had never cooked with Juniper Berries until a few days ago, as a recipe I was using called for them. I needed them quickly, so naturally went here to Amazon. I was very surprised by the delicous flavor these berries brought out, a very nice pine flavor (not overpowering) a nice citrus note, and a little peppery spice. Now I am searching for more recepies to use juniper berries in. Give it a try, have some fun jazzing up a meal. Cheers!!

Quality
It was suggested I try this with a nonalcoholic hot toddy. Honestly, the flavor is a bit harsh for my taste but the product itself came vacuum sealed and as advertised. A quality product.

... my first thought was that these did not look like any Juniper berries I had ever seen before
Upon receiving the berries depicted here my first thought was that these did not look like any Juniper berries I had ever seen before. More like dried peppercorns. But, I decided maybe the manufacturer knew something I didn't so I proceeded in trying to extract some flavors from the product. I crushed a handful, soaked another few and even boiled some, all to no avail. There was not a hint of any scent or fragrance emanating from the berries.I had bought the product with one specific goal in mind, to impart some flavor into a side of fresh Salmon that I was going to smoke on my BBQ. This method is called hot-smoking and produces a totally different result than regular smoked Salmon. I put a handful of cracked berries on the soaked woodchips hoping that the heat might release some fragrance but I might as well have put a handful of nails on the fire.I come from a place where the juniper bush grows wild and the fragrance from the bush and the berries can be detected, if not from miles away certainly from a hundred yards or more. This was a very disappointing experience, one that I am not about to repeat unless there is another way of extracting the fragrance and flavor I was looking for.

Exactly what I needed
Bought this because I make a killer braised red cabbage and couldn't find juniper berries anywhere. I like that the package is a zip top bag to lock in flavor and keep fresh. Used 4 berries so far, can't wait to explore other recipes. Will buy from this seller again.

Good juniper
I bought this to use for a deer stew I was making. The Juniper berries were delicious and perfect for a winter deer stew. They came in a strong bag good for storage.
