Very Well Built, Very Compatible.
Controls engineer here. Was issued a work laptop without integrated ethernet, so I keep a handful of ethernet adapters in my bag. I've used dedicated USB NICs and also the ones like this that are a USB hub with integrated NIC. Of all the ones I have used, this one is my favorite. It looks good, and has a nice metal enclosure. The enclosure is also very square which I like because I stuck a magnet to mine so that I attach the adapter to the side of a control panel if I so choose. It would be harder to stick a magnet to a rounded device. There is also a gray USB hub/NIC available online but I will not buy those any more. There seems to be some sort of defect that rears it's head when connecting to certain devices. I have tried different combinations of three different laptops, more than a half dozen of these adapters, and a wide array of PLCs, scanners, and other automation related devices. Under certain conditions the gray model just stops working. If you try to use DataMan to connect to a Cognex scanner, or view the web interface on a CompactLogix PLC, the NIC just stops working until you unplug it and plug it back in. This happens on the USB-A and USB-C variant. All network connectivity just stops if you do either of those two things. No such issue on this model. It works 100% of the time with 100% of the devices that I've connected to with it. I carry a variety of these just in case, but if I could only have one, this would be it.

Good product
I am very pleased. I have an old wide format printer and scanner that is VERY difficult to connect through the ethernet cable. Old computer quit working. Tried a few other computers and couldn't get them to work. Had a Windows tablet with no ethernet socket. Gave this a shot and it worked!! Had to give the adapter an IP address and it connected to the mainframe computer that runs the wideformat printer and scanner. BINGO!! Simply plug and play!

Sufficiently adapts USB to LAN. USB ports are limited.
I have one USB port on my device. So this came in handy for hardwiring internet connection without losing my only USB port all together. I would say the USB ports on this device are suitable for flash drives and perhaps a wired mouse. I noticed some issues when I plugged in the Bluetooth dongle for my wireless mouse. The mouse works okay when really close to the adapter but not so well 1-2 feet away. So good news as far as power consumption, but not so good for accessories that draw power.

Very usefull
I love this, I got this after my ethernet adapter decided to break and it works so well. It also comes with some extra usb ports. Would 10/10 get this again.

Ports a plenty
It's big problem that laptops nowadays have a limited number of usb ports and most of the peripherals depend on usb ports. Hence, I bought this USB 3.0 hub. The hub works as expected! I have not checked the speed from the hubs or the ethernet connection yet and will update again if those don't work as expected.

Easy Install - Great Results
Great way to add wired Ethernet capability to my WiFi only notebook. Installed easily โ truly plug and play. Feels well-built. Something you can keep in a bag and not worry about it breaking.
