Great looking mid-century lamp.
I use this on my desk. Simple design. Sturdy. Base has plenty of weight to prevent it from being knocked over easily. Flexible neck keeps lamp head in place, very sturdy. My only complaint, and it's minor, is the toggle switch is off when up (away), and on when down. But not a deal breaker. Maybe the manufacturer will correct this in the futureI would/will buy another.

Sleek style, quality product.
I have purchased three of these lamps for their style and quality. From a style perspective, they are sleek and elegant. I placed two of the lamps in my retro/mid-century style office, and the other in a contemporary styled loft, and they fit into the décor of each. The lights are adjustable, so you can direct light in three directions on each lamp. I find the lamps to be sturdy and well-weighted on the bottom so they do not tip over very easily if someone bumps into them. The lamps were easy for one person to assemble, and it took less than ten minutes to do so. They also are easy to clean requiring little more than a dust cloth (I don't use any cleaning products on the lamps themselves.) They are statement pieces that add an interesting design element to each space. I'm very pleased with this product and am glad I purchased three of them.

PROs & CONs
PROs:--It looks like the actual picture.--Good looking, mid-century modern design.--Sturdy, well made, good quality.--Paint is a flat black - not shiny.--Easy to assemble (only 1 person needed).--Priced reasonably, if cheaper, the quality would suffer (you get what you pay for).CONs: If CONs were eliminated, I'd up my rate to 5 stars--Wish lamp stems had more swivel range, which other reviewers complained about too! At this price, manufacturer could have done so.--The brown faux wood (plastic) handles are disappointing - should be wrapped in brass to look mid-century.--Packaged in POOR quality Styrofoam that disintegrated upon opening & flew everywhere. Kitchen looked like a blizzard of miniscule, static balls that clung to me, floor & cabinets -- GRRR! To this day, I'm still picking up tiny pieces. (Note to manufacturer: use better Styrofoam .)

Classic 1950's Too Cool Modernist Design
I love the design, a classic 1950's too cool design. The switch is on the base, not a the wooden top as the original was. The gooseneck is very bendable and the overall weight is just fine, not too heavy and not cheesy light. I wasn't sure whether this would be a put it together yourself lamp, and happily it came rather brilliantly wrapped to secure it and protect it from any dings or scratches. It's certainly a modernist dream at this price. I stuck a Reveal 60 watt light bulb in, it's just fine on a desk pointed down or up or as you like. I think it's better as a desk lamp than a night time reading lamp. I added a Lutron lamp dimmer because it's nice to have that as an option. Love this, very happy with the quality.

Power Cord Issues
The lamp looked great one I got it out of the very messy styrofoam packaging. There was one problem, though: the power cord was cut clean through at the point that it entered and exited the base of the lamp. I’m returning it for a replacement but am very disappointed.

Excellent design
I looked a long time for a mid-century-ish pole lamp for a reasonable price. The few available original ones are quite expensive. And most of the new ones did not have the specific look I wanted. The shape of the shrouds on this one was exactly what I was looking for. Both the scooped front and the bowtie back end. Just perfect. The nitpicks noted in other reviews are all accurate, but do not matter to me. This is mostly just for looking cool in my mid-mod living room. Those nitpicks: you can't control the individual lights (I get around this by only screwing one bulb in all the way, as I only want one on most of the time); the rotation is limited (as you can tell by the photos, the stem is fixed in place, but they do swivel around that stem).

This works great for our use
lamp comes with the pole in part and you screw the pieces together. once assembled the segments are basically insibile. All the wiring is intact so it's just a matter of threading the wire thru the pieces. Each of the three shades is adjustable on an axis, but if you tried to "adjust" it on the other axis I can see how these could get broken. Not a problem for us as I adjusted them the way I wanted them, and plugged the lamp into an outlet that works off the wall switch - so t here's no reason here for people to mess with the shades. Also you might want to know that the POLE has ONE thumb-knob that turns ON or OFF all THREE of the shades. IOW you cannot turn ON the top one, for example, and leave the bottom two OFF. The whole pole with its three shades is either on or off. This works great for our use, but might be an unexpected problem for some. The base is very heavy and the lamp is sturdy.

That Value!
Wow- blown away by this floor lamp for it’s price! We have a few floors lamps from West Elm in the $250-$350 range and not kidding when I say this hangs with the best of them. Pictures reflect it well and it’s extremely sturdy.Make sure to use a 3 way bulb to utilize the light levels as well as using LEDs to keep the bulbs cool.
