KRAFUN Teddy, Raccoon & Owl Sewing Kit for Kids Ages 7-12

Love this kit. My seven year-old had asked me to teach him how to sew. This kid made it so easy for him to follow the directions on his own with the premade holes. I definitely recommend for all kids interested in learning the basics.

I bought this as a craft idea to do with our granddaughters ages seven and nine. Each stuffy ranges in difficulty. They did OK as long as I started the thread, tied the 1st knot and gave them specific instructions. The most difficult was the blue fox and even I had a hard time getting the pieces on in the exact order needed. Overall, they served the purpose and we had several enjoyable afternoons working on them. It takes several hours to complete the harder ones. You have to be careful stuffing them as the holes will stretch and break if you are not careful.

Was pleasantly surprised by the packaging. Each animal is in an individual bag with all fabric precut and each bag had their own instructions as well as needle thread and scissors. I will say if your child has zero experiance sewing this may not be for you, but if they have a basic understanding of it they will do fine. We did this with Girl Scouts and some had an easier time than others. Great quality and loved the packaging inside.

I got this KRAFUN sewing kit as a beginner sewing/craft activity, and while the finished toys did come out somewhat like the pictures, the quality of the materials was disappointing. The biggest issue is the fabric. It felt very flimsy and cheap, especially the faux fur pieces, which were so thin they were almost transparent. The backing was plain felt, and there was really nothing attractive going on in the back, so the stitching is visible. For a beginner kit, I understand that it needs to be simple, but I still think it could have used better-quality felt or nicer faux fur. The kit is definitely very beginner-friendly. The holes are pre-punched, and the needles are plastic. That may be helpful for a very young child, but it felt too basic for my teenager. I would say this is better suited for a younger beginner, possibly closer to a five-year-old with help, rather than someone older who wants a more satisfying craft project. Another issue is that some of the symmetrical pieces were not always clearly marked, so it was easy to confuse the front and back sides. The projects are simple, but that part could have been clearer. One fun thing we did was add a little lavender inside, which made the finished toy smell nice. That helped make it feel a little more special, and we were still able to use it as a small high school graduation gift. I would avoid it for older kids, teens, or anyone looking for a more polished craft project. The concept is cute, but the fabric quality makes it feel much cheaper than it should.

I bought this for a birthday present for a 10-year old and for myself (81 year old) so I would be able to help my young friend when she gets ready to try her craft. I loved it. I have already finished all three little cuties. The only problem I had is that not every little animal had all the holes punched in each piece and the directions should be more detailed and have written instructions. I don't think children would understand the arrows for sewing and they would definitely need help from and adult even if they think they could do it all by themselves. I thought the little animals were really cute. I also think you could use just a tad more stuffing.

My granddaughter absolutely loved this. The animals are so cute and the colors are wonderful. She's already asking for her next kit. Great for beginners. Easy to follow instructions and easy to use. Such wonderful quality and affordable.
