For the price best amp you can buy!
My best friend bought this same amp over 10 years ago and it still works! I just bought one prime for 20 bucks. Do not expect to hear you coming down the street but this is perfect for for the person who wants reasonable bass. I have it hooked up to a pyle 10" 1000w sub and it sounds great. It's loud enough to hit pretty hard with the gain all the way up and the boost on. I have the loud off on my deck and the bass at zero and that's how it sounds the best for my setup.

Unit runs hot and shuts off....
Unit pushes GREAT, however it runs hot and shuts off...would have returned as I am not sure if it is a defective unit, but outside of the return window. So now, until I purchase something else, I have to keep volume low or wait for the unit to cool down and turn back on, pretty aggravating.

Great 4 Ohm Amplifier
This amp is 4 ohms bridged. I have a pyle plbt8 8 inch bass tube. I have not tested it in a car but in my room it sounds great off of my 13.8 volt power supply. I haven't heard distortion even when i pushed it and had the room booming, although when i had done with my giggles i put it down to a normal listening level and put some dubstep mix on youtube which i knew had bass. I let it play for an hour and after i checked it was very slightly warm. I am completely happy with this purchase. (oh something to keep in mind this is about 75-80 watts before it distorts from what i tested because off of my 13.8 power supply it was roughly pulling 5 and a half amps. Normally i don't use bass boost but for this amp its nice because it doesn't over do it like most bass boost.UPDATE:ran this in my car with the bass tube. with it being 0 degrees it sounded nice, if a bit quite. For 30 miles on the highway it sounded clean and it didn't warm up (though it was 0 out so I digress. I hooked it up to a pioneer TS-W201C subwoofer and it pounded so hard! I love this little amplifier and I am glad I bought it.(ps the pass-through works great I hooked it up to a dual xpe2700 amplifier with no problems.[...]

dont bother
Upon receiving the bod i noticed that it was a bit beat up. I didnt think much of it and proceded to open it up. I will say the large instruction manual was nice and helpful but i am not very pleased with the amplifier itself. The clear plastic piece that covers the amp and lets you se into it was loose and sitting inside the amp. I had to pop it out and spend a good five minutes trying to get it into the grooves. Id doesnt like to stay there it just keeps poping back out. It also has some scuffs and scratches on it. The labeling for the terminals of the amp were also scuffed and not looking the greatest. I was also told in the instructions that the kit comes with a ground wire, one self tapping screw, 12 wire nuts, 4 mounting screws, 4 flat washers, a 20 amp fuse and a spade terminal. All i got was the ground wire and the 12 wire nuts and the fuse. The piece of plexiglass is of great concern because it rattles and likes to fall into the amp when the sub hits. Dont waste your money just save up and get something better. You will be disappointed

Cheap, but works (I think)
Item was ok. I'm no stereo audiophile guru, but am very comfortable installing aftermarket audio components. I used this on my Jeep Cherokee and running two 6.5" Pyle component speakers from it. This is not my daily driver, but a weekend warrior/spare vehicle for running around in the desert/camping in. The unit looks nice, is pretty compact and fits well under the driver seat. I did the install myself, pretty straight forward. I was using it for about two weeks with no problems, and then the head unit on my vehicle just stopped producing sound. I need to test out another amp to see if it's the amp or the head unit. Anyway, the power output doesn't seem to be as claimed, the adjustments on it are extremely touchy, doing a crossover was underwhelming. Spend a few more bucks on a brand name amp. I'm not ranting about this because it's not for my daily driver, but for a recreational vehicle.

maybe 40+40 watts, not bad considering.
for 29 bucks as a refurb, hard to go wrong here. similarly priced by BOSS, SSL or others, arent bridgeable, this one is. Amazon needs to change remove any reference of 2-Ohm from this amps description, it is not and will not run a 2-Ohm load. I'm using it bridged into a single voicecoil 10" Obcon subwoofer rated for a 180 watts and its doing its job, then again, modified it the day after I got for getting too warm and shutting itself down. mod was removing its plexi cover, slitting the heatsinks, a cooling fan into the plexi cover.. problem solved (it got run upside-down through a tablesaw, just a little scary right?).honestly I'd say this amp's maximum output is about 35+35 watts, and it isnt going to push that kind of power for very long before its thermal protection kicks in. about ALL manufacturers play the "watts hype game", the VR3 saying 50+50 RMS being closer to realistic.UPDATE: picked up a 2nd one, connected to a pair of 8" MCM woofers (8-ohm in parallel) to its bridged output, all mounted on a board to fit a buddy's 87 camaro, rearmost lower bucket area. the bass is FAT and the amp isnt heating up at all. going to replace my Obcon sub with a Goldwood DVC 10 (GW-410D) rated 110w and 96db from 2.83v/1m oughtta take care of heat issue while providing MORE BASS with less strain on the amp. it wont be run bridged just means double wires.this IS a great deal, but think "woofers" not power hungry SUBwoofers (the GW-410D is a very efficient sub), will update again after the 410D.his 2 8's being about 100 sq.in. surface area total, the DVC 10 about 78 sq.in., if it delivers half or more bass than that pair of 8's, I'll be very happy.

now the bass is way better than with the factory system
Installed this in my Sentra and it does the job, now the bass is way better than with the factory system. I got a refurbished one for $22 and it was almost new. I also bough an amplifier wiring set from Amazon BOSS Audio KIT-ZERO 10 Gauge Amplifier Installation Kit for $ 8.54 totaling $30.54 in do it yourself. very good value and sound. thank you Amazon..
