Exceeded expectations with the zoom feature. Killing rats all night (neighbors farm house.) This one is more powerful than the other options on amzn.

It fills a spot between admin light and weapon light/illuminator. It does a good job illuminating "enough" without actually auto-gating the tube much, if at all. Definitely not bright enough for anything but gen 3, and maybe gen 2+. Expect a realistic maximum of around 25 yards at wide focus and maybe 90 yards at narrow focus if there is any ambient light at all, after that it just blends in with starlight on a clear day. It does not defeat photonic barriers whatsoever, but it won't auto-gate your tube much (if any) either.

Not bad for the price. Used on my HHV helmet for ir illumination with nods. Flood to about 25 yards. Focus beam is square and covers about 10ft at about 100yrds. Not bad for the price and does the job. The beam has a cross in the square and the center is shadowed out and that's the only thing I don't like about it but hey it's 20 bucks. No battery so you'll have to buy and if you unscrew the clip to put it in a mount the screw holes will let water into the battery compartment

I bought two ir 940nm lights I bought this and the dark beam one . This one is bare bones I mean you get what you pay for , I mean the dark beam is 2 x the price the flashlight itself is almost identical but this cheaper one doesn’t come with a li-on 18650 battery be nice if they gave you one of those adapters that take 3 AAAs at least . Then you need a charger also, just spend the $50 and get the dark beam comes with remote on off has mount has battery and a charger so it’s worth it by the time you buy all that stuff you spent more, you can try a smoke shop they use these batteries in electronic cigarettes

Works perfectly. Exactly what I needed. Lights up dark areas very well for night vision. Non-visible light. Awesome quality. Great price. Used 18650 lithium battery for it. Battery lasts long time.

Bright

I really like this lightweight, IR flashlight for use with my digital NVG set up. This mounts to a helmet very quickly and easily with a flashlight mount. As for the features and operability, the 940nm means that the light is functionally invisible to the naked eye unless you stare at it. It appears as a small burning dot, offering a definite advantage over 850nm IR light. The zoom function is also a great feature, allowing you to flood a room or peer out to 100 yards with it.

Really hard to give this a 5-star when they cannot tell us what battery it takes. I had a strong idea and bought with confidence. 18650 is the answer... I wish they'd say more about protected, unprotected, flat-top, etc. The light is not the same diameter as the many other lights that are white lights and appear to have the same main body design. Do not expect this go go into a 1" light mount unless you are okay with wrapping in tape or have some type of spacers. I'm only looking to use this on a bump helmet, so tape as a spacer is fine with me. Another review pointed out that removing the screws and clip can expose the light to water intrusion. I plan to see if the screws are short enough to work without the clip. So far only tested at 20 feet in complete dark with digital night vision. I'll update with accurate distances in the future. The durability appears to be what you should expect for the price point, if not, maybe a little above. Again, I'll report back.
