Easy to Install and Brought My TV Back to Like New
My now aging Sony LCD HDTV was getting dim and the contrast was low. I'd replaced the lamp a number of years ago and it was getting to be time to do so again. I'd already compensated as much as possible by turning up the video settings but it had got to the point that I was pretty unhappy with the picture quality and could no longer turn things up further.I almost replaced the TV with a new 4K LED Smart TV that I had spotted in a Best Buy ad and researched. However, the day I was near Best Buy (a week or so before Xmas), the lot was full and there was no place to park. So I left to run other errands instead. When I got home, I decided I didn't really need the Smart functions in the room where this TV now resides (it was along ago bumped out of the living room for a more modern and larger screen TV). Nor did I really need 4K in that room. I decided to try replacing the lamp again instead. I remembered that doing so the first time improved things immensely.True to form, replacing it again this time brought the TV back to like new picture quality. I even had to turn down all of my picture adjustments previously made to compensate for the aging lamp that was in it. This is an 8 year old Sony and it's never going to compete with today's LEDs and OLEDs but armed with this new lamp, it's till plenty good in my family room. The lamp comes with instructions on how to install it, and it really only takes a couple of minutes to complete. I did take the opportunity to clean out the dust in the lamp compartment. This being a genuine Philips lamp, I'm sure I will get several more years of good picture quality from it before needing replacement once again.

Great bulb, but buyer beware
I typically don't write too many reviews, but I'll say this. The bulb is fantastic and does last a long time. Probably 4-5 years (YMMV). This is the second time I've gotten a new bulb. This time was different, and I think it warrants a "buyer beware" warning. They probably don't make these like they used to. The manufacturer country of origin was Mexico. The construction and assembly quality of this bulb was substandard. When I installed it in the TV, I immediately smelled electrical burn. The bulb worked, so I left it on for a bit figuring maybe this was a small bit of something that needed to "fizzle off" then I'd be good, but no dice. The smell persisted, so I shut down and put my older dying bulb back in. By contrast, no burn smell from the older bulb. I could smell the burn right on this newer one after I took it out. Also, the packaging... It was shipped in the bulb box only. The box had no padding on the inside, and you know what that means for fragile stuff, but somehow it survived. Now, onto the better stuff. This was sold as a new product, so I expected new. Inside the box, it didn't seem wrong at first, but then after taking it out, I noticed the "remove sticker" had debris on it, and it was obviously "reattached". This was likely used. A "fell off the truck" special possibly... Either way, I doubt this is completely new.Buyer beware... I'm out $90.Maybe this is the kick in the tail I needed, but I'm getting a new Sony X900E to replace my aged Grand VEGA. It's a shame since the grand vega is just fine. These new bulbs however... Well, they don't make them like they used to...

Good; much better than the cheaper alternatives.
Edit 2: just replaced the lamp and the problem was not solved. The problem's wasn't the bulb it seems. Bumping the rating back up.Edit: here I am less than a year later needing another new lamp. I'll probably still get this one because the picture was way better than it was with the generic lamp.Almost 1 month in, and I'm happy with this item. I previously purchased a generic lamp assembly that took longer to warm up, and gave up after a little over a year of use. This one warms up quickly and the picture looks good again. Hopefully it lasts longer than the generic one.

Worth it
I had used the ~$20 versions assuming a "bulb is a bulb" and any deficiencies in the picture were due to thethe design/technology of the TV itself. So based on some of the reviews comparing this bulb with the cheaper ones, I decided to take a chance. Wow, what a difference! My TV was given to me several years ago and it had already seen a lot of use. I had no reference point as to what a new one should look like, and assumed that the somewhat dim display was just the nature of an old, obsolete projection TV. I believe this bulb hasgiven me that reference point as to what the TV was like when new. This is SO much brighter and the colors much more vivid than it ever was before. I've used it daily for a few months and it's still functioning brilliantly. I hope it lasts.

Works well. Doesn't look original Phillips
I bought this for a sony tv. It fits perfectly, the bulb got replaced and works very good, not as bright as I thought it would though. No Phillips brand on the product. In the other hand a paper from Phillips manufacturing came in the box which says that all Phillips manufacturing is done I Shanghai, China but the casing on the bulb says made in Mexico (actually I prefer Mexican but it is missing certain specs it says there should be on the bulb). Also it doesnt look as a very good quality replacement, cheap plastic and parts. If it lasts long enough I'll update to a better rating. Paid 80 bucks hope it's better than the cheap ones.

TV looks great but I could see a lot of people sending ...
I almost returned this item because it was supposed to be OEM. Came in a box without any indication of who made the Assembly or lamp. Made in Mexico. Opened the box and looked at the assembly and it's stamped Made in Mexico also. Did some research and was finally able to verify the bulb was indeed an Philips OEM bulb. It's almost impossible to identify the lamp without taking the housing apart. TV looks great but I could see a lot of people sending this back thinking they got ripped off. I almost did.

I bought a 3 pack of RPF-UKF-8001 which was delivered as scheduled. I recently experienced my water would not flow from refrigerator tap ,I replaced with a new filter and it worked!I never experienced a filter completely clogging up at approximately 5-6 months. The original filter always flowed for 1 year when I changed it , my filter icon ( change filter) on fridge would illuminate .It just makes me wonder the quality of filter being used!

Average value
After a few days tv now has bars showing. 1 at the top and one at the bottom of the screen. Other than that color looks good and tv boots up alot faster.
