Fogged over in no time
The first one I owned lasted what seemed like a few years with no problem . Got this one to monitor the hours and assist in propping my 9.9 merc seems like it is still working but dang if you can see it even with a flashlight at all different angles no clue on the hours or rpms I'm turning . Wasted my 50 bucks it lasted about as long as it took for my yard to get some rain .My first one I had was around 12 years ago maybe they are farming them out to ////////well you know

Expensive for not being able to change the battery
The only drawback to this is the fact that you have to buy a new one when the internal battery goes bad. It does have a one year warranty but it is very expensive if you have to potentially have to change them every 1 to 2 years. The ones I have at work and home have lasted longer but the ones that did fail were due to the battery failing/going dead. I have them on several pieces of equipment at home and it can get expensive changing them at $50.00 to $55.00 each.

After hooking up the easy installation of the Tiny Tac
I needed a Tac for my go kart to meter the RPMs, so the least amount I could afford was the Tiny Tac for around $50 with S/H. The normal Tac for a go kart is called a Micron-(4) and they cost $350 to $400, but they do alot more than just show the RPMs. After hooking up the easy installation of the Tiny Tac, I started the motor and the Tac started to work immediately, once I shut down the motor the Tiny Tac stuck on 2,200 RPMs and would not move, it was froze. Luckly I saved the paperwork and called the 800 number. The tech person said I would have to pry open the Tiny Tac and use a small screwdriver or small metal object to short across two points of interest. After prying open the sealed Tiny Tac with a sharp blade, it was pretty much ruined or it wasn't going back together or never to be sealed ever again! So after removing the battery, the Tiny Tac reset and I used clear shipping tape to reseal the cover. it looks like crap with air bubbles, or its been road hard and put away wet, when it was brand new. The Tiny Tac company should have sent me another one or asked that I send it back so they could fix it, but that's not policy apparently. While they work for a cheap way to check RPMs, the company doesn't stand behind their product even when its brand new! AL from Illniois

Works perfect
Works perfect on my riding lawn mower. If you rebuilt the carb, this is a must to reset the idle and run rpm.
