Mondo Games Unmatched: Buffy The Vampire Slayer

My wife is a huge Buffy the vampire slayer fan and this set is good. You feel like your playing as the characters themselves. Only thing is the general play styles of the characters are ok. Other expansion characters feel better fleshed out. Its a licensed set so I would say get it before its discontinued.

This set adds some fun characters and maps to the Unmatched system.A number of people online insist on "warning" people away from this set because the characters aren't winning tournament level games. Are these people tournament level players? I doubt it. Are you a tournament level player or a player who enjoys the Buffy license and the Unmatched game system?

Considered the weakest set for Unmatched, but has 2 good maps and the characters are fun to play with especially in a 2v2, Co-op tales to amaze or a FFA setting with 3-4 players.

I am NOT a Buffy fan - I’ve never sent the show… This is my least played set but I often use the two maps included.Buffy is, no surprise, the strongest of the heroes in this set and due to choice of sidekick can be “customized” accordingly.Spike, if played right, can do massive damage.Angel is plain and kind of boring…Willow is AMAZING if played in 3-4 player matches as she can resurrect heroes (twice).The maps included are very well laid out and a blast to play.As stated previously, I don’t play the heroes but may move willow into gameplay with groups.

I bought this to play with my girlfriend who is a huge Buffy fan. She absolutely loves it and I'm very impressed with the art and quality. The style is really good. The game is somewhat complicated as someone who has never played unmatched before, but you get the hang of it fairly quickly.Overall would recommend to any fan of Buffy and board games.

The characters are all super fun and have some cool unique powers! Would definitely recommend this even if you haven't seen the Buffy show.

Awesome game. Easy to play. Great for Buffy fans, but also a good game for non fans.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer gives you five different fighters from the TV series.Buffy appears twice, with Xander and with Giles making two different fightersWillow & Tara, Angel & Faith, Spike & Drusilla are the other three fighters.Angel and Buffy/Xander are tanksWillow is a ranged fighter with a number of interesting options.Spike is the weakest fighter in the game, unable to win most games. no tactic has been found to fix this.The fighters are weak, being in the bottom third, with the exception of Buffy/Xander being just below 50%.The best part of the set is two great maps.
