Can I use these as notmal scissors?

Not if you want to use them on fabric afterwards. If you just want to use them as general purpose scissors then I'm sure they'd be fine. You should always keep fabric scissors solely for that purpose.

how long will these stay sharp for fabric

That would depend on the type of fabric and the thickness of the fabric. I use them for fine cotton and cotton velvet and they have kept their sharpness well. My use is only as a hobby/pastime not as a business.
