Siegen S0870 8pc Combination Spanner Set - Whitworth

Good quality spanners, but could be a bit thicker at the open ends. Essential for work on British cars and motorcycles.

Made in Czech Republic, whose reputation for high quality metalworking is second only to the Swiss and Germans. I was holding my breath ordering these, because so many such unusual tools are cheap Chinese junk, but am overjoyed at what I received.

An excellent wrench set, comparable in quality to any Craftsman or Husky brand tools. They look nice and fit old BSP fittings perfectly.

Seem to be a great, well made, set of spanners.It is not easy to get excited about spanners, but, if I am not exactly excited, I am pleased with them. I will have to wait for many years to know how well they stand up to everyday use, after all, I would still be using a set that I bought in 1973, if they hadn't been stolen.Please try to visit this site in 30~40 years, and, if I am still living, I will be able to give a decent review of them.As it is, from appearances, I would buy them again, recommend them, or, even, give them as a gift. Although, I don't think my girlfriend would appreciate them. (I don't think she gets excited about spanners at all!)Seriously, they do seem nice, if you want spanners, they do seem OK.

Looked at a lot of different Whitworth spanners before settling on this Siegen set; glad I did as they feel well-made, seem nicely finished and don't look out of place among my (much) older UK-made tools.Not certain if these spanners are manufactured in Eastern Europe or are Chinese: hopefully, the former, but either way they're excellent value at the price!

I normally buy snap on but whitworth are not as common as once were, so bought this Siegen set. They have a nice feel about them including during use. They seem well made, strong and I like them and would buy Siegen spanners again.

These spanners appear to be as well made and finished as the original market leader, Britool. They have that excellent "feel" so important even with such a prosaic item as a spanner - in other words, a pleasure to use. Let's hope the finish remains intact (like my 50-year old Britool sets).

For the price (mid range) the spanner set shows good quality and in use so far have been perfectly satisfactory. If you aren't wanting to pay a lot of money for your spanners then this set is a good buy. The company delivered promptly and is to be recommended.
