Prime-Line U 10527 Kwikset Repair Cylinder, Keyed Alike (Single Pack)

I bought this with the Kwikset key path specifically to rekey. My first time rekeying. The cylinder bore (I may have the terms wrong) was smaller than my Kwikset plug follower which I had to shave down with my Dremel. As other reviewers have said, this caused the pins to sit higher than the cylinder which I also had to shave down with the Dremel. A file/vice would probably have been better because I did end up flattening part of the cylinder but these are for garage door locks which won't really every be used anyway and now work with my standard house key so I'm happy.Would have been easier had I not had the cylinder bore size issue. I did have the top pins and screws fall out on my first one so had to find a Youtube video to see how to fix that (made a "brass magnet" with scotch tape on the end of a drill bit (skinny firm piece of metal). The four keys that came with this had numbers stamped on them that did not map to my Kwikset gauge; those pins and keys were tossed.Overall works for what I got it for. Will probably hit it with some silver or chrome spray paint so it matches the garage door handle.

This lock since it is using the popular KW1. The only catch is that you will need to file your pins flush as the normal Kwikset pins are too tall for this lock. The way that I recommend doing it is to put in the key you want to rekey to then drop your matching pins in. Then you want to clamp it into a vise and file till you see and feel the pins being flush with the core

When looking for a replacement lock for my garage door, it seemed they all came with two keys, and these two keys could not be duplicated due to using an unusual blank. I kept looking and came across this set, which included two keyed alike locks and only cost a little bit more than the others. It didn't state how many keys it came with, but I was hoping it was two per lock and it did in fact come with 4 alike keys! So I got a lock and four keys for less than what it would cost to purchase a lock with 2 keys + 2 duplicate keys, if you even could get duplicates which you can't. And I got a spare lock. I'm guessing that these keys also can't be duplicated but four keys should be enough for me.

The guy who got the Kwikset version must have been lucky.For the low price (there were 2 in the box) these are decent locks and work fine with the included keys. However, if you want to re-key, the standard Kwikset tools and pins will not work. If you need extra keys, you must take in one of the keys because the number code on these keys are not kwickset numbers or sizes. The keys are definitely Kwikset. I suspect the manufacturer used Schlage pins numbered them accordingly. Since I don't have a schlage gauge or pins, I can't say for certain. All I know is that I ended up filing down pins to get smooth operation.If you have the time and patience, or possibly schlage pins, the locks are a decent value.

This lockset was the correct replacement for a Stanley lock that was the original . I searched for many weeks and tried other locksets but this was the only one which fitted . Helped to have actual dimensions shown too.

Perfect. Fit my garage door no problems no hickups. It was amazing to buy two locks and have 4 keys preset so i didn't have to make copies. If you need a replacement lock for your garage door and don't want to hire a locksmith this is perfect. It is definately a little easier with two people but you can do it alone if you go slow with it.

Most of these are poorly made pieces of crap from China, so you might as well pay as little as you can.
