Easy to use app for the iPhone
I just got the device and spent about an hour with it. Works as advertised. Easy to use app for the iPhone. The instructions are clear if you have some basic understanding of electricity, wiring, connecting to Wi-Fi, etc. I'm using it with a 5050 16 ft. RGB strip plus about 7 feet left over from another strip. Based on what I found on the web 23 feet of LED strip could consume about 6 Amps at 12 V. The controller is rated for 4 Amps, so I run the risk of overloading it if I run the strip with all the colors full on - i.e. white. I will probably run the strip with one or two colors so I may be OK. I'll post an update if I have problems. It was straightforward to connect my phone directly to the controller, then configure the controller to connect to my Wi-Fi. Now any device I have, phone, tablet, etc. can run the control and and adjust the colors, turn the strip on and off, etc. Because of others comments I didn't try to connect it to a 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Works just fine with 2.4. I created a control group so that I could control several controllers together and plan on ordering two more to power additional strips. I've read some of the other feedback and I haven't had the problems some have encountered. I suggest you pay attention to your wiring, tin the ends of your wiring with solder, pay attention to + and - voltage designations, and don't overload the controller with too many strips. I think using two LED strips per controller might be too much. Certainly no more than that. Right now I'm working on the bedroom. If this works out I'll probably expanded to other rooms and create a group for each. Update 11/14/2017: There have been questions about how many strips you can control with this device. To avoid overloading it use a repeater at the end of each strip. You will need a power supply for each repeater. The repeater passes through the control signal and then supplies power to the downstream strip. If you string too many strips together without repeaters you are passing all the current through the main controller and you will probably burn it out. Same goes for the first strip in the series, you don't want to pass all the current through that strip as you could also burn that out, create a short, or possibly a fire. Here is a link for a low cost RGB strip repeater. https://www.amazon.com/SUPERNIGHT-Repeater-Signal-Amplifier-Strip/dp/B00E4JQDKE/ref=sr_1_4?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1510679977&sr=1-4&keywords=led+strip+repeater

Awesome controller for the price!
It's fast, easy to use and works wonderfully. Can't believe something like this works so well for how cheap it was. Hopefully it will last a while!UPDATE 8/31/16 - After Android 7 "Nougat" the android app no longer works. I have several devices though (iphone and another older android phone) so I can still use it, but my main phone (Nexus 6P) cannot operate the device with the Magic Home App.[...]Update 5/30/2018 - At some point the app was updated and now works with Android Oreo, working on Pixel 2 now.The only issue I seem to have is if you put the app in "Disco" mode where it responds to music and changes the lighting accordingly, eventually the app will lose its connection to the controller and stop being able to be controlled. Closing the app and relaunching does fix it, but it's far from perfect. For the price though, this controller is pretty amazing. I also like the fact that I can turn it on with Google Assistant now. So, you simply ask google to, "turn on the pool lights" and they're on! You can also change colors, but I haven't figured out how to set the lights to any lighting modes that the real provides. Good enough though!

Overall, This is a great solid device! Skip the IR remote and stop buying strips with them! Go straight to this and strips!
I'm quite impressed w/ this little box! It has plenty of customization options for most any lighting need, including custom timers! There are a few caveats though: It doesn't do 5Ghz wifi. The app will show 5Ghz access points all day, but I think it gets that from the phone, because it cannot connect to them. (I tried for an hour, but really, there is no need for 5Ghz w/ this type of application. Also, it doesn't tell you why it errors out, so if you are trying to connect to 5ghz network, or you type your passkey wrong for your 2.4 ghz wifi, it won't connect, and not tell you why. Timer worked regularly. It has a nice web interface too for the tech geeks out there (thanks to the person who answered that Q!!!#EDIT#My wife was pleasantly surprised w/ these. She didn't believe that I could deliver something so beautiful, but the way we've got these set up is quite lovely, and we use them as a "wake up" timer for our kiddo. If they are red on the weekends, he knows not to bother us (unless somethings wrong of course) if they are yellow, he can play as long as he's quiet like a mouse, and if they are green he can wake us up if he needs to. AWESOME!There are better controllers out there, sure. but all things considered, you can't beat the price/ Performance ratio of this one. After using it for several days, I'm upgrading to 5 stars!

Works for a while and then quits. Don't waste your money.
This product has worked inconsistently since I installed it. First the instructions were very hard to follow. The most basic information that you would expect (such as example wiring diagrams) was not included. Instead the majority of the effort was put to explaining the wi-fi, which has at best worked a week and can no longer be detected. This was supposed to add the simplicity of remote control to my LEDs at a reasonable cost. This has been a total waste of time. As of this writing I can no longer discover the base wi-fi name, and no devices are discoverable via my Android device. The device continues to respond to my original schedule, but I can't modify even the color.

A must have for led strips
Works perfectly.I ordered this wifi controller for the led strip I have on my desk and couldn't be happier. Easy to setup both physically and on the software side. Plenty of functions and fully customizable. I am very happy with this product and will order more for a few more things. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants to fully control their leds without the annoying remotes.

Tutto ok
