OurPets Alpine Cat Scratcher

My cats love this. The only problem was it collapsed but we were able to fix it.

I was very disappointed in this cat scratcher. Mainly due to the misleading photos and measurements in the advertisement. You can also see that what you will get is different than what is pictured. The actual cardboard scratcher is 9.25 x 14.5 when sitting in the box it’s meant for. Interesting enough, I bought one that is an inch longer, same width, for $4.00 only about a week ago. I hate to return and rarely do. But this just isn’t as big as I thought I was getting and not worth the price. The size is very important for my large Maine Coon kitty.

Especially like that it is reversible.

My kitten LOVES this scratcher she is about 4lbs and jumps up and down on it as well as scratches the “hello” out of it.! My other cat is 7 years old and weighs almost 17lbs he comes from the Bombay breed witches and extremely large cat. I thought I would tell you that so people don’t think I have an obese cat lol. He loves this scratcher also and he likes to lay on it. This scratcher for the most part stays together even under all his weight I have had to put it back together once or twice since I’ve had it only because they were both roughhousing on it together. I would definitely buy this again.

Corrugation not as tight as it used to be, meaning the pad will be shreaded sooner. My old pad lasted for years. Guess thats the point for earnings. I thought no catnip packet was included (catnip in the scratcher as always though). But I managed to open the back of the box by wiggling its large tabs, and voila! A very generous bag of catnip. Images of product are of old product. New box avoids plastic wrap, which is good, but instructions on back say "remove plastic." Box is perforated to open to pad. Good design to avoid extra packaging except the perforation was not enough to direct tearing. Needed scissors. Cats don't mind.

I bought this so that my cats would be attracted to it and they are. It gets thrown around the room a few times during the day in it holding up well. Once I put the catnip that's included with it on the scratcher they both went nuts. I rather use it because I don't want her scratching furniture it provides a nice distraction. Definitely worth the money and I liked it the catnip was included. I've never seen a cat that doesn't like a little bit of the nip.

My cats love this shaped scratcher

I have 5 large adult rescued feral kitties (3 of my own and 2 fosters). To prevent them from damaging my furniture I keep lots of scratchers or scratching pads around and these kitties make full use of them. Since I go through a lot of scratchers in a short time, I look for a brand like this one that balances a low price, with the largest widest size (because these cats are mostly large and heavy). The scratcher must be durable and of a good quality that will last a long while and the inner part that they pull their claws on must be firm and reversible. Other features that this one contains that I always look for is included catnip (this one includes my cat's favorite Cosmic Catnip) and an outer packaging design that does not stand out, does not have tassels, and that blends with the surroundings so it isn't too noticeable (the condo association prefers no cats). This brand has a very light looking pattern that hides it a bit. There are one or two cheaper brands but they don't last as long as this one does and they don't have all the features that I've mentioned.Nov. 2018 update: I've been ordering this "Our Pets..." brand of cat scratcher yearly since 2014 and they are still great and have maintained a high quality so I still consider it a 5 star product. Each scratcher lasts a little over a year despite heavy use by 4 rescued feral cats. I had 5 but 1 passed at an old age and the 2 that I reported as fosters have been adopted by me. All 4 still claw them daily and play with or take naps on them too. Note: The original packet of catnip delivered with each scratcher and sprinkle on the top of it only lasts me a little more than a month and after that I purchase dried catnip on-line and periodically sprinkle more on each scratcher to encourage my kitties to keep using them and not the furniture. This procedure and product works fine.
