First, it's not your standard frozen Asian grocery udon
I love these udon, but there are a few things to remember.First, they're not your standard frozen Asian grocery udon. Those are less chewy, and more "melt-y", if you will. Great in soups like Nabeyaki Udon because they absorb so much flavor. These are quite different.Second, cooking directions. If you like your noodles very, very well cooked, stick with the 10 minutes. My family prefer their pasta al dente, and I found 4 minutes at a decently rolling boil was plenty. I didn't use a translator; I watched and tasted. At about 3:50 I pulled them off the stove, threw them into a strainer, and ran cold water over them until cool enough to touch with my fingers. Then, I spread them over a clean kitchen towel and rolled it - without pressing or wringing! - just enough to remove some of the water. We had them at lunch, with a couple of different sauces (highly recommend Kamada's sweet soy sauce mixed with water for this, add a little chili oil or sesame oil if you like) and some cooked shrimp. The texture, if you don't overcook them, is velvety and smooth. The "chew" is fabulous. Much more of a finish than any of the other pre-packaged udon I've tried, both dry and frozen. I'd give these a high recommend, personally.

It rocked my Dad’s face off.
My Dad no longer has a face from eating these delicious noodles. Before his face fell off, he gushed over how flavorful and chewy the noodles were. He recommends straining the cooked noodles and mixing them with a sauce and topping with meats and vegetables before eating. It’s unfortunate he no longer has the ability to eat these noodles. I’ll be buying again.

Good udon from Japan.
As a Japanese, I love this udon noodle. It’s chewy and smooth. I recommend to eat them cold as an udon noodle salad or dipped in udon soup.

Google translate is a necessary cooking tool
It's very good udon. But there are no english cooking directions so I had to use a translation app to make it.
