Magnets work fine holding item firmly in place and are not easily removed from the top of truck. Still they can be removed when necessary with strong upward force without damage. These are not light duty magnets. Use them to attach a small light bar to the roof of a Silverado pickup truck.

Yeah. These magnets are quite powerful. At first, I thought that maybe four wouldn’t be enough strength for this application. However, I’m glad to be pleasantly mistaken. What you see in the images is a 30” H x 24” W x 1/2” D MDF held by the magnets on my mobile workbench. I refused to drill into it because it’s brand-spanking new, so I improvised. I don’t even have all my batteries on the mounts and still have room for more. So there’s plenty more that can be mounted, making it that much more heavier. I highly recommend these magnets.

Strong magnets hard to get off of the roof of my vehicle so if you need a set I'd recommend these ones

I used this for an LED light mount and it was exactly as described. Only have had it 2 weeks but it is working perfect, very stron hold even on thinner sheet metal (roof, hood, etc.). The rubber in the base is not as thick as I would have hoped but it does the job of not having the magnet contact the truck paint directly. You can see the magnets through the rubber in the picture. I would buy again if I need more.

Use this magnet on a Harborfright led work light originally equipped with a stand and handle. Have to drill the center hole a little bigger but once secure this magnet has allowed me to stick this thing anywhere steel is available. The soft shell prevents magnet breakage, and so far been resistant to oils.

Good product. It holds my seed monitor on my tractor hood and does not scratch it. I would guess on a vertical surface it would not hold as good and slip down with enough weight.
