From New York Times bestselling Shel Silverstein, celebrated creator of Where the Sidewalk Ends , A Light in the Attic , and Falling Up , comes an amazing collection of never-before-published poems and drawings. Have you ever read a book with everything on it? Well, here it is! You will say Hi-ho for the toilet troll, get tongue-tied with Stick-a-Tongue-Out-Sid, play a highly unusual horn, and experience the joys of growing down. What's that? You have a case of the Lovetobutcants? Impossible! Just come on in and let the magic of Shel Silverstein bend your brain and open your heart. And don't miss Runny Babbit Returns , the new book from Shel Silverstein! Review: Love Shel! - I love Shel's books. I love exploring the themes of his writing, and I wish I was smart enough as a kid to read beyond the whimsical nature of his writing. Review: Ultimate nostalgia. - When I was a toddler, my mom read me poems from Shel Silverstein's A Light in the Attic, Falling Up, and Where the Sidewalk Ends. It was in fact one of the most pivotal experiences of my childhood, as it initiated my love and hunger for reading. 15 years later, it's the beginning of November, and I'm looking for something to get my mom for her 51st birthday present. When I saw this book was on sale at desertcart, I immediately jumped at the opportunity to buy it. Since my mom used to read me poems from the book, I decided to record myself reading the first 30 or so poems from the book. Of the ones I read, they were in the same fun, catchy tone as his many previous poem collections.. These poems (and the illustrations too, of course!) were just as special and unique as the ones I had read more than a decade ago. I loved them, even as an adult! Needless to say, my mother loved the present as well. As a college student, I also appreciate the relatively inexpensive price of this beautiful hardcover book. R.I.P. Shel Silverstein -- a true inspiration for children and adults alike, with his uniquely catchy and surprisingly deep poem-writing.

Who doesn't love Shel Silverteins's books
His rhyming stories are clever, funny, adorable, witty and some have great messages. I have a huge collection of Shel Silverstein's books. Children love to hear his poems. I first started buying these for my daughter when she was a child. I kept them, but I bought extra sets for her to read to her children. We will read them to future grandhildren (I hope there will be future grandchildren). I give his books as baby shower gifts.

Must-Have for Shel Silverstein Readers
Our family LOVES these books by Shel Silverstein! Not only are they enjoyable for adults, but our kids can’t get enough of them. At 5yrs and 6yrs old, our girls read these poems out loud with little help and with a lot of enjoyment!

Is the item second hand?
The book is not sealed in plastic. The cover is folded and there is a dirty line in front. It is meant as a gift but now I am embarrassed to gift it as it looks like a second hand book.

Everyone, adults included took several turns at reciting the poems over Christmas. My nephew loved the quirky verses and the book went everywhere with him, picking out his favourites to recite over and over again. Gem of a find, now we have to order the other titles by the wonderful Shel.
