Is this suitable for use as a guest bed?

Wow I’m so glad I read these. The reviews as a workout bench weren’t good, but the reviews as a guest bed totally sold me. My MIL wants to move in with us, so this will be perfect her! I think sheets will be hard to find for it, so I’ll just put a sleeping bag on it. I don’t foresee any problems and I’m sure she’ll be very happy here!

Will this support the weight of various circus animals?

Yes! really sturdy, this bench is a good piece of equipment. I'm glad I purchased.

Anyone using this for step ups? if the base sturdy enough?

I would not personally want to use it for step ups. There's not a lot supporting the sides of this bench, it's designed to have weight along the middle of the frame. You'd want to be careful about where you put your feet. (I do jumps over it in place of a box jump when working out.)
