Good little unit from growing your own stuff. Seed pods seem stale, so be prepared to re-seed them.
So far so good. I didnโt expect much in the way of germination after reading the reviews. And as expected, germination was poor. Only the basil germinated. But then, I wasnโt interested in the dill, nor curly parsley. So weโre good there. I waited a month and re-seeded with my own stuff: native Florida swamp tomato that germinated quite quickly. And flat parsley, that didnโt germinate, so I re-seeded with watercress, and hope it does better. It is pretty early to tell, but it hasnโt disappointed yet. It has been 1.5 months. The unit itself seems pretty flimsy/fragile. But then it just sits there and does its thing. Donโt abuse it. Donโt be rough with it.

Awesome! Dot it! you won't regret it!
Awesome! I had it up and running day it arrived with 0 practice exp or problems! Thank you Aerogarden! The Basil already sprouted so the seeds are even still viable. So These are My new budget gift for everyone! I bought a second for my brother!

Nice size
I like that this doesnโt need to be programmed. I like the small size. Just big enough for 3 herbs. Thatโs all I need. Now after planting only one seed pod sprouted. 1 molded and the third is just doing nothing. I had to order new seed pods to replace the duds

Fantastic - much better than the (larger) AeroGarden Harvest Lite
I've purchased two AeroGarden Sprout systems - one for basil and one for mint. So far they seem to be working beautifully. This system has a few advantages over the larger (6 plant placements) AeroGarden Harvest Lite system: (a) most importantly: based on my experience (and YMMV) - it's not a good idea to put more than one plant in this type of system: there is a good chance that one plant will take over all of the resources (light/food/water) which will essentially cause the other plants to wilt and die (happened to me with mint and basil - basil ultimately took over). so it's better to have separate systems for different plants. If a single-plant system existed - that could have been terrific, but this system (Sprout), which has 3 plant placements, is the smallest I could find. (b) the AeroGarden Harvest Lite water reservoir is 2x in size compared to the Sprout's. So if you need to move it around, and especially when you need to empty and re-fill the entire reservoir (which is recommended to do every 4-6 weeks) - it is much harder to do with the Harvest Lite; the Sprout is lighter and I can hold the filled reservoir tank with only one hand (I could not do the same with the Harvest Lite), so that makes the empty-and-refill task much easier. Sprout disadvantages compared to the Harvest Lite system: (a) The max light height is lower - about 9 inch (compared to the ~12 inch of the Harvest Lite) - so the max height of the plant(s) will be a bit more limited, but definitely not a deal breaker. (b) The Harvest Lite manual explicitly states that the water reservoir is dishwasher safe. However, the Sprout's manual doesn't mention anything about dishwasher safety. Again - not a deal breaker, but could have been nice to know for sure. So overall - highly recommended. The Sprout is about half the price of the Harvest's; so If you plan to plant only 1-2 plants, I'd strongly recommend going with 1-2 Sprout systems, rather than a single large Harvest system. Also - if you're planning to not utilize all plant spacers - make sure to use plant spacer cover caps (see the black discs in my photos).

Set it and forget it!
Very easy to use. Fill with water, add plant food and plant seeds in cones. Press the button and walk away. I just started some Texas Bluebonnets and they germinated and sprouted in a few days. Looking forward to planting them in some Wisconsin ground if it ever gets warm enough here.

Cannot get seeds to sprout
I write very few review reviews, but I unfortunately have to give this one a poor review. The machine appears to work correctly but we've tried nine different seed pods and cannot get anything to grow. It was a Christmas present and then since you need to allow at least 14-21 days for most plants to germinate, I missed the 30 day return/replacement window. 30 days is not enough time to know if the product works. First try, I thought perhaps it was user error even though we both always follow instructions. So we tried again. Then I thought perhaps the original seed pods were defective (couldn't find a date in the package) so I did contact Support and received a $13 credit to buy more seed pods. Ordered those and new pods won't germinate either. We've reviewed all the troubleshooting listed (we were doing everything correctly). Three tries over a four month period was not successful. In addition, I was unable to successfully find a way to contact the company directly for support and since it wasn't a cheap product. I feel forced to write a poor review. We are very disappointed .

Really nice little unit!
Got this for my mom for mother's Day and she loves it. It's not terribly big. You're not gonna farm all your veggies for the house hold on this thing lol but it's fun to do up some small things like cilantro, basil, etc. and use it in a dish. It looks really nice on the counter and doesn't take up a whole lot of room which is nice. Over all it's a nice little unit!

Super easy set up, quality guaranteed...I have not been disappointed yet with Aerogarden!
This was super easy to set up! I had ordered the sprouting attachment thinking it came with the whole system, but instead of returning it, I just ordered the entire Sprout System! Well worth the $60 total I spent! The sprout system was only $40 and came with everything you need to start 3 herbs. All I had to do was interchange the original 3 pod for the 15 sprout plate and insert my seeds! I now have 5 different plants growing (3 of each) that will be ready to transfer outside in 3 weeks! Like I said, it was so easy to put together and set up. I literally just filled the reservoir with water and a bit of fertilizer, put the top on, connected the pump and threw my seeds in the sponges and plugged it in! This is a perfect addition to my indoor garden and will get lots of use out of it!

a great gift for a loved one with small counter space but a love of fresh herbs
this small little aeroponic unit is great ! comes with everything you need to start it, my mother was able to set it up and get growing with very little input from me. I told her not to use all the slots, so she is just doing to the basil and parsley. looks great on the counter. i would not suggest fruiting vegetables in this unit the resevoir is too small, but a great little entry level unit. my new gift for people who love cooking, but you dont want to burden them with having to take care of a plant. 1 or 2 check ups on the plants every week and that is it !. great for what it is !

Buy it - you'll love it!
No dislikes at all. We popped in the growing capsules, filled the water reservoir, added the nutrients, and switched it on. The basil is already trying to take over the world, the dill is 2 inches high, and the parsley is starting (always the slowpoke). We grew tomatoes hydroponically in a high-rise apartment years ago, and it's fun to start again. We'll certainly buy larger Aerogardens later. This has been a rough winter but the tiny green shoots were encouraging even at minus 45 C.

Fun to watch them grow!
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my sister-in-law. She loved it! It was fun to watch the herbs grow, and now they are abundant for cooking. I was not sure how the AeroGarden would go, but for the most part, its great! Unfortunately, the middle parsley stunted and did not grow. We are not sure if it would have been able to anyways because the dill and basil take over the whole area.
