Well worth the cost & plays as good as the more expensive ones.
I started to play the Harmonica several years ago and I like to play the chromatic because of the versatility. I own several Hohner,s, Suzuki SCX48 & 56, and a Seydel Saxony. There good instruments, but as you know, the wind saving valves can be a problem, especially in colder temperature. When I saw this Swan 1040 selling at a low price and that the reeds are phosphor bronze, ( The Suzuki SCX are that way, which are tougher and longer lasting), I decided to try it out and to my AMAZEMENT it played very well. Of course being valve less it will take more air. You can do bends and still be in tune. If you are looking for a good sounding, durable instrument that suitable for all weather, ( I happen to be a mail carrier and I take these with me to play on my breaks ) and inexpensive, this Harmonica will do well.

Great value
For the money it’s hard to beat, but it’s also hard to blow. But for 25$ it’s pretty good, and it has screwed in reed plates!

Good harmonica for the price.
I ordered this for my husband and he is quite pleased with it. It came in a nice case and was nice and shiny. It also has a good sound.

I have it one star, but it don't deserve it! Came with parts missing on the slider, and one of the notes never did play. Never buy another swan again.

Excellect Choice, BUT stops at E before the third C.
The Swan easily speaks uniformly from 1 to 10 with all reeds. As an amateur who has no performance aspirations, perhaps I have erred in purchasing "popular," more expensive harps. The absence of wind savers is hardly significant, and the uniform voicing is a delight. Purchased as a "truck harp," I think it will spend more time in the house than initially intended. Certainly for a first chromatic, this would be an excellent choice. However, lacking wind savers, it does require a bit more air than the Suzuki Chromatix. The ONLY reason I don't like it so much is that it stops at E above the second C. It is going to the first friend who wants it, and I can only hope that the 10-48, that goes on up to the next C, will be as uniform and playable.

you can`t go wrong!!
i`ve been playing all kind of harmonicas since 1982!! this is my 1st SWAN CHROMATIC Harmonica ; it came really fast in 2 days..wow!! it`s way more than just a beginners chromatic harmonica..and i tell you why : VERY AIRTIGHT!! if you really know how to play HARMONICA and you play your own songs..or you play someone else songs and you wanna play`em right you gotta use an AIRTIGHT HARMONICA..there`s no way around!! i give you an example : try to learn how to play THE GODFATHER song note by note with this SWAN 1040 CHROMATIC and go play it inside an empty room (the bigger the better) and then you`ll know what i`m talking about!! along with its cheap price..i truly believe that SWAN made all of us AN OFFER WE CAN`T REFUSE ha ha ha!! thank you SWAN..that`s unspeakable generosity!! An Unexpectedly Good Harmonica
It was inexpensive so I bought this as a knock around instrument to keep in my car when I am stuck in traffic. Buy it actually sounds and plays so well I decided to use one of my Chrometta 8s in the car instead and keep this for home practice instrument.
