Bummis Cloth Diaper Cover Kit - Hook & Loop - Newborn

I had trouble with these diapers since my daughter is a heavy wetter. I think with a regular wetter they may work ok. But they are not very thick and I had a hard time fitting in a doubler to add extra absorbing power. I now use them for extra inserts in my pocket diapers. I did like the covers. The extra flap in the leg works great for holding in and keeping it from leaking. They fit great since my daughter has small thighs. most diapers are hard to get a good fit in the leg. Especially when she was a newborn. The other thing is these did not come with very good prepping instructions and would be frustrating for a new cloth diaper parent. I followed the prepping instructions for my other prefolds and it worked well. I washed warm with free and clear detergent ( not cloth diaper detergent since it makes cotton ruff and brittle) for the first run I did soak, pre wash and rinse with detergent, then dried in the dryer (just the prefolds the covers I air dried). I then pre washed, washed on hot with detergent and dried in the dryer and repeated 4 or 5 times making sure to use detergent with each washing and drying in between washing. It washes off the excess oil in the cotton. The drying in between helps fluff up the fibers for better absorbance and proper shrinkage.Then they are ready for use. I now wash them with free and clear detergent, soak and prewash on warm and wash on hot with extra rinse cycle after use. It works great. (the soak and pre wash on warm helps get ride of the yuck that will cause stains. hot would set the stain. after I have pre washed the hot washing then helps kill germs and smell). I then air dry. I also recommend making sure you have size 1 covers and other diapers on hand since these are only going to fit for a short time. But they are well worth it since newborns are usually to small to fit the bigger sizes, even the all size and small diapers. These fill in the size gap.

I am new to cloth diapering and wanted to use these immediately in the hospital when my baby was born, unfortunately I did not wash them in time. By the time we got home, I realized that they were going to be too big for my tiny baby. She was 7 lbs. but was very petite. Now, after getting them washed (it might seem like a pain, but it was very simple after doing it) they were good. I think my issue now is that she is too big for newborn, because I have had a few leaks with poo with EBF baby. It might also be that I am new to cloth diapering and the pictures they show that come with the diapers are not very useful. I looked up videos on YouTube but they never showed which way the folds were supposed to go into the diaper. So, it's not really a complaint on the product but it would be useful to portray in the drawings which way the prefolds are supposed to go in the outer covering.

I have been pretty happy with them! You do have to change every 2 hours though, or they will leak out. And I find I have to change the baby in the middle of the night, which I don't like. Other than that they are great! Good quality and I love the brand. Has been really nice for my skinny baby. Almost two months old and is still wearing them with lots of room.

Our twins were both under 5 lbs when we brought them home. We ordered 2 sets of these as well as rumparoo covers and thirstys covers and infant sized prefolds. The prefolds in this set were not as soft as the other prefolds and only fit until about 6 lbs. The covers were nice, but again, did not fit for long. If I did it again, I'd skip this set, as we got less than a months worth of use out of it even as tiny as our guys were when they came home.

I like the price and what you get in the bundle. They are thin so I ended up using two at a time on my daughter. But they definitely fit better for the first 6 weeks.

This is the best diapering system I have found for my tiny newborns. I put the prefold on with a snappi fastener and then put the diaper cover on. My babies leak if I just tuck the prefold into the cover.

Soo easy to use them .I was a little scared at first but it takes maybe a minute more then with disposables .Great product.

Very good quality material. Comes with what I need for the 1st day or 2.And I can use it as inserts when any gets older.
