Battery seems reliable, but recent tests make me wonder
After purchasing this in Sept of 2013, I decided to check the CA/CCA numbers with my Solar battery tester (very handy by the way and much more accurate than load testers and multimeters) just to see how close this battery is to its rated CA/CCA values. To my surprise, the CA which is rated at 910, comes in at 726 or so and the CCA which is rated at 710 shows around 526.I am not having any problems with it per se, BUT now I am wondering if this battery will even last a couple more years. I am going to do some more tests as this was done after the vehicle sat overnight BUT these numbers should NOT come back this low on a barely 16 month battery. For now, I'll give this an average rating based on this recent test but I am not confident that these batteries are reliable given these results. The good thing is that even though these values are lower than I expected they are still higher than the OEM Battery that I had removed so my vehicle shouldn't have starting problems. It's just how long will this last. We shall see.As for delivery and installation ease I had no problems with either. But with that hassle-free packaging I could see where a dropped battery would crack or incur damage. That's kind of hit or miss depending on who delivers it. I am surprised Amazon won't honor the warranty even though they cannot accept this sort of item in return and I am even more surprised that I read Optima won't honor anything purchased through Amazon--not very customer friendly if these other comments are accurate. That would definitely cause me to shop other battery vendors.Hopefully, my battery lasts another few years at least but if it doesn't I'll just buy the OEM model and call it a day.hope this review helps....

The best car battery. Period.
I'm always surprised when I see negative reviews on these batteries. I'm on my third car in the last 8-ish years now that I've put one of these batteries in. It is to the point that now I just replace the battery with an Optima even if the existing battery is still working fine. I've never had any trouble with any of the three I've purchased.I was a little weary hearing of shipping issues, but amazon shipped mine quickly and with no cracks, dings, scratches, etc. It came in perfect condition with plenty of padding.I bought this one to put in a Scion tC. I used the included plastic thing as a stand to prop up the battery to be a little bit higher, and it fits perfectly as a replacement for my old one.The first Optima red-top I bought was for my 2003 Hyundai Tiburon. I installed it in 2006 and it is still in there running flawlessly, even though most people accept 5ish years as the standard life of a typical car battery. That one has been running strong for almost 8, even through many nights of accidentally leaving a light on, draining the battery, and having to jump the car and recharge it.Compared to the batteries I replace with these, I like that they are cleaner, free of liquids (use gel instead), have ZERO corrosion on the terminals, have a great warranty, and a much longer lifespan than conventional batteries. Unless they end up changing their design/manufacturing to cut costs or something similarly foolish, I will continue buying these for every car I ever own.

Great Battery & Good Value
The thing I care most about in my car battery is how long it lasts, so its hard to write a review of this until a few years has passed but will give my initial thoughts here and update if it ever changes.I bought this for my 2002 Honda Accord. I had compared it to other batteries and was going to buy it local but when I looked around similarly priced batteries were not nearly rated as high. This particular battery would have cost me at least $50 more locally so I ordered it from Amazon. Shipped quickly and was at my door two days later. The packaging was in the frustration free packaging and it was indeed that. No problems that I could see and very easy to get to.Anybody who is worried whether they can do this by themselves shouldn't be. If you are at all mechanically inclined, this is the simplest job on your car you can do yourself. Just unhook the battery harness. Remove the cables. Potentially scrub them a little if they have rust. Spray on some battery protector, and hook the cables back up. I had to use the riser that was included with the battery for it to fit in my car, but that was easy and straightforward.Battery works great. Provides plenty of power and starts the car right away with no issue. Actually, this is an improvement over the battery I had before which was from AAA.

Price is right. Starts my car.
Good battery. I had an earlier version, which somehow after two years totally died completely in my 'Vette (which, honestly, is a garage queen and doesn't get driven more than a few times a month). There is a known voltage drain glitch in some manual 'Vettes with the shifter-in-reverse-to-turn-off requirement and also the remote door lock function (software fixed this problem). But, regardless of why it died, the battery wouldn't recharge at all following a jump and 50 minutes of driving - the charging voltage never settled down (probably something about the load presented to the alternator). I took it to the place where I bought it, an outfit I get my motorhome batteries from, and they couldn't get it to charge/hold a charge so they sent it to the area rep. I suspected a bad cell, but the rep was able to fully charge/hold (which I have verified these last few weeks). The battery this review is written for, is working fine in the car and I monitor the charge voltage often while driving, but the reason for so much yakking is that I was told by the rep that this cell design, once fully discharged, needs more attention than "regular' cells to wake them up.
