Oh my gosh, this thing is AWESOME. Finally a way to get hard-boiled eggs out of boiling water. Also works terrifically well for removing food items (french fries, hush puppies, etc.) from hot oil. The nice, long handle assures your hand won't be anywhere near the heat. It's a piece of cake to wash by hand, or you can pop it in the dishwasher, your choice. The red handle is gorgeous (just happens to match my red-accents kitchen, woohoo!) and the hanging hole is perfect for storage. I tried just putting it in my lazy susan tool holder, but honestly it's so long it towered above all the other tools, sticking out like a sore thumb -- so on a hook it went. Within easy reach, of course, since I find that I'm using this thing constantly.Very well made, lovely design, wonderful function. Another big hit from KitchenAid - heartily recommend!

This is a useful spider type of skimmer often used in Asian cooking. It's perfect for lifting and draining foods from hot oil, boiling water, stocks and soups. The actual strainer is about 5" in diameter and 1.75" deep. It has a good, solid weight to it. Pretty sturdy and durable. The handle feels solid and sturdy as well. I like that it's dishwasher safe and easy to clean. It works great and looks attractive. Very well made.

I have wanted one of these for awhile and this has not disappointed. I have used it to take dumplings and won-tons out of oil and it works awesome. I also have used it to get hard boiled eggs out of the water. The handle is long enough that you aren't near the oil/hot water. Best of all it is dishwasher safe! My mom had one of these when I was growing up but the "basket" part was a rope/jute material and tended to be impossible to clean. No such issues here! This will be a regularly used item in our house.

I have been looking for a utensil like this forever! I just love it! It's perfect for woks and my deep fryer. Very well made, sturdy and big design make it so useful in the kitchen. It can be used for so many tasks. It has a hole for hanging or can fit in a drawer. I'm so happy I found it. It's one of my new favorite gadgets! Highly recommend.
