Belanger EK+ 6" Waterproof Boot

I purchased these boots for my job as a server in an upscale restaurant. They were dressy enough that my manager approved them as part of my uniform (we have to wear all black with black shoes), but looked practical and comfortable as well. I really liked the style when looking online, and when they arrived I was happy to see that they looked great in person as well. The construction seemed top-notch, and I suspect that if one were to walk in them a great deal, they would hold up nicely. The problem, is that I have to constantly go into the kitchen to run food or turn and pull clean dishes to the expediter station. When these boots make contact with the slightest amount of liquid or moisture on the floor, it is like you are walking on greased glass. While walking on carpet or dry surfaces is fine, any sort of even semi-smooth surface becomes an ice rink when wet. While the boots are not specifically advertised as slip resistant, they are advertised as waterproof. I cannot think of a single scenario where you would want boots that are waterproof, but will cause you to slip and fall if you wear them in wet conditions. I suppose if you plan to wear these for fashion only and completely avoid even the tiniest amount of moisture, they would suit your needs, but without proper slip resistant soles, they aren't practical at all.

These shoes will make you slip and fall. Unbelievable...took them to my shoe guy ..he couldn't believe how slippery they are on a slightly damp surface. Not safe!The good side is ..they look and feel good.Until you slip and fall
